Swedish Parasports Federation
The Swedish Parasport Federation and Swedish Paralympic Committee ( sv, Svenska Parasportförbundet och Sveriges Paralympiska Kommitté), is the umbrella organization for parasport in Sweden. It was formerly known as the Swedish Sports Organization for the Disabled and Swedish Paralympic Committee ( sv, Svenska Handikappidrottsförbundet och Sveriges Paralympiska Kommitté or ''SHIF/SPK'') and earlier the Swedish Sports Organization for the Disabled ( sv, Svenska Handikappidrottsförbundet or ''SHIF''). The current name was adopted during a meeting in Malmö on 9 May 2015. It is the National Paralympic Committee in Sweden for the Paralympic Games movement. Albertville (; Arpitan: ''Arbèrtvile'') is a subprefecture of the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in Southeastern France. Torbjörn Ek (paralympian)
Torbjörn Ek (25 June 1949 – 18 August 2010) was a Swedish bandy and football player and manager. He was considered one of the country's top bandy players during the 1970s and early 1980s. Ek was capped 102 times for the Swedish national bandy team, scoring 89 goals, and was a member of silver-medal winning teams at the Bandy World Cup on 6 occasions. He was a member of the team which won the junior bandy world cup in 1967. In 1975 Ek's team Ljusdals BK won the Swedish bandy league. He managed the Swedish national bandy team for 1 match, in 1993. 1992 Winter Paralympics
The 1992 Winter Paralympics (french: Jeux paralympiques d'hiver de 1992) were the fifth Winter Paralympics. They were the first Winter Paralympics to be celebrated with the International Olympic Committee cooperation. They were also the first ever Paralympics or a Winter Parasports event held in France. They were held at the resort of Tignes as a support venue of the main host city Albertville, France, from 25 March to 1 April 1992. For the first time, demonstration events in Alpine and Nordic Skiing for athletes with an intellectual disability and Biathlon for athletes with a visual impairment were held. Tignes
Tignes () is a commune in the Tarentaise Valley, in the Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France, known for the highest skiable area and the longest ski season in Europe. It is located in the Savoie region with good transport links in and out of Lyon, Geneva and Chambéry. It is best known as a snow sure ski resort. Together with neighbouring Val d'Isère, it formed the "Espace Killy" ski area. The proximity of two resorts offers one of the most seamless links between ski areas in Europe, in effect creating a single skiable area of over 300 km piste.
