Susanna Cenni
Susanna Cenni (born 17 April 1963) is an Italian politician of the Democratic Party. Biography Cenni began her political career when she was very young, joining the Italian Communist Party, which later became Democratic Party of the Left and then Democrats of the Left. In 2007, Cenni was elected in the National Constituent of the Democratic Party. From 2000 to 2005, Cenni has been the regional councilor for Tourism, Trade and Fairs in Tuscany, while from 2005 to 2008, she has been the regional councilor for Agriculture, both times under Claudio Martini's presidency. Cenni is elected for the first time to the Chamber of Deputies after the 2008 general elections, and has been later re-elected in the 2013 elections and the 2018 elections. Cenni is currently vice-president of the Agriculture Committee of the Chamber of Deputies. Poggibonsi
Poggibonsi is a town in the province of Siena, Tuscany, central Italy. It is located on the river Elsa and is the main centre of the Valdelsa Valley. History The area around Poggibonsi was already settled in the Neolithic age, although the first traces of civilisation dates from Etruscan-Roman age, attested by a series of necropolises and by placenames such as "Talciona" or "Marturi" (from the Etruscan name of Mars). The importance of the area dates from the 10th century, thanks to its position across the Via Francigena, the main road from Rome to France. At that time, the development of Borgo di Marte (later ''Marturi'', ''Borgo Vecchio'' and then Poggibonsi) was started, a settlement whose origins are debated. Around 1010, Borgo di Camaldo appeared. 2017 Democratic Party (Italy) Leadership Election
The 2017 Democratic Party leadership election was an open primary election held on 30 April 2017. The three candidates were Matteo Renzi, former Prime Minister and party secretary until February 2017, Michele Emiliano, President of Apulia, and Andrea Orlando, the Minister of Justice. Renzi was elected by a landslide 70%, and appointed Maurizio Martina as his deputy secretary. Electoral process Candidates were required to file their candidacies by 6 March 2017. Local and provincial conventions then take place all around the country, where party members vote on the candidates for secretary. The 2023 Democratic Party leadership election was a primary election that was held in Italy in February 2023 to elect the National Assembly and secretary of the Democratic Party (PD). It consisted of a closed primary election among party members held from 9 to 19 February, and an open primary election held on 26 February. Four candidates ran in the closed primary election held in circle conventions: Stefano Bonaccini, Gianni Cuperlo, Paola De Micheli, and Elly Schlein. Bonaccini and Schlein advanced to the open primary election, where Schlein won with over 53% of the vote, becoming the first woman and the youngest person to ever serve as leader of the PD, as well as the first openly LGBT leader of a major Italian political party. Andrea Orlando (born 8 February 1969) is an Italian politician who served as minister of labour and social policies from 2021 to 2022 in the cabinet led by Prime Minister Mario Draghi. From 2013 to 2018 he served as minister of the environment under Enrico Letta and as minister of justice under Matteo Renzi and Paolo Gentiloni from 2014 to 2018.
