Susana Calandrelli (January 17, 1901 – July 21, 1978) was an Argentine writer and teacher. Biography Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Calandrelli wrote everything from poetry, stories, novels to essays, plays, lectures and textbooks. She participated in several different cultural institutions and directed the ''Escuela de Servicio Social del Insituto de Cultura Religiosa Superior''. She specialized in graphology and characterology, giving courses covering such material. In 1918 she received a gold medal for her work ''A los muertos ignorados'' and an award of honor for ''La libertad'' from the Académie des Jeux Floraux in Languedoc in both Spanish and French. She also collaborated in the Buenos Aires-based La Nación, La Prensa (Buenos Aires), La Prensa, El Hogar and other newspapers and magazines, publishing many books. Oliverio Girondo
Oliverio Girondo (August 17, 1891 – January 24, 1967) was an Argentine poet. He was born in Buenos Aires to a relatively wealthy family, enabling him from a young age to travel to Europe, where he studied in both Paris and England. He is perhaps most famous for his participation in the magazines (Proa, Prisma and Martín Fierro), which ushered in the arrival of ultraism, the first of the vanguardist movements to settle in Argentina. His first poems, full of color and irony, surpass the simple admiration of beauty in nature which was then a common theme, opting instead for a fuller and more interesting topic: a sort of celebration of living cosmopolitan and urbane, both praising such a lifestyle and criticizing some of the customs of its society.
