Survival
Survival, or the act of surviving, is the propensity of something to continue existing, particularly when this is done despite conditions that might kill or destroy it. The concept can be applied to humans and other living things (or, hypothetically, any sentient being), to physical object, and to abstract things such as beliefs or ideas. Living things generally have a self-preservation instinct to survive, while objects intended for use in harsh conditions are designed for survivability. Meaning The word, "survival", derives from the Late Latin '' supervivere'', literally meaning "to outlive". Most commonly, "the term 'survival' means physical survival — that is, a struggle to avoid physical extermination". Survive (band)
Survive (often styled S U R V I V E) is an electronic band consisting of Michael Stein, Kyle Dixon, Adam Jones and Mark Donica formed in 2009 in Austin, Texas. The Austin-based quartet have been producing synth-heavy, horror-score-influenced compositions for over a decade, exploring these themes through drum machines and analog synths across various single, EP and LP releases and contributions to soundtracks such as acclaimed indie horror film '' The Guest''. The band gained wider fame after members Dixon and Stein composed the musical score for the Netflix's horror-supernatural hit series ''Stranger Things''. Both volumes of the soundtrack were nominated individually for the Best Score Soundtrack Category for the 2017 Grammy Awards, though neither won. 2017 saw Dixon and Stein also nominated for an ASCAP award as a result of their soundtrack work. ''Survive'' is the second studio album by American thrash metal band Nuclear Assault, released in 1988 on vinyl, compact disc and cassette. As of 2012, the album has been out of print. Propelled by the single "Brainwashed", ''Survive'' was the album that broke Nuclear Assault into the thrash metal mainstream, and was their first album to enter the ''Billboard'' 200, reaching number 145 on that chart. "Survive" is a song and single written by David Bowie and Reeves Gabrels for the album '' Hours'' in 1999. "Survive" was released as the third single from the album in January 2000, it reached number 28 on the UK Singles Chart. It was characterized as a confessional highlight in a review by Rolling Stone. Miyavi
, better known by his stage name Miyavi (雅, stylized as MIYAVI), is a Japanese guitarist, singer-songwriter, record producer, and actor known for his finger- slapping style of playing a guitar. He has been active since 1999, first as guitarist for the now defunct visual kei rock band Dué le quartz and then as a solo artist starting in 2002.
