Surge is a 2020 British thriller film, directed by Aneil Karia from a screenplay by Karia, Rupert Jones and Rita Kalnejasis. It stars Ben Whishaw, Ellie Haddington, Ian Gelder and Jasmine Jobson. It had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on 26 January 2020 and was released in the United Kingdom on 28 May 2021, by Vertigo Releasing. Ben Whishaw
Benjamin John Whishaw (born 14 October 1980) is an English actor and producer. After winning a British Independent Film Award for his performance in ''My Brother Tom'' (2001), he was nominated for an Olivier Award for his portrayal of the title role in a 2004 production of ''Hamlet''.
