Surfer's Hymn
"Surfer's Hymn" is the final single from Panda Bear (musician), Panda Bear's fourth solo album, Tomboy (album), Tomboy. It was released as a limited edition 7" by Kompakt on March 28, 2011 and later released digitally. In suit with the other three, the single features artwork by Noah's fellow Jane (American band), Jane member, Scott Mou. An unofficial yet approved music video, directed by m ss ng p eces was released for the song. Reportedly, Tomboy (album), Tomboy producer and former Spacemen 3 member, Pete Kember, Sonic Boom posted the video to the Animal Collective fan board, Collected Animals, however this has not been confirmed. Noah Lennox
Noah Benjamin Lennox (born July 17, 1978), also known by his moniker Panda Bear, is an American musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and co-founding member of the band Animal Collective. In addition to his work with that group, Lennox has released six solo LPs since 1999, with his influential 2007 album ''Person Pitch'' inspiring numerous subsequent acts. His subsequent albums ''Tomboy (album), Tomboy'' (2011) and ''Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper'' (2015) both reached the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200. Lennox was primarily raised in Baltimore, Maryland, where he sang tenor in his high school chamber choir, and studied piano and cello. The name "Panda Bear" derived from his habit of drawing pandas on his early mixtapes as a teenager. He and the other members of Animal Collective began collaborating in the late 1990s. Tomboy (album)
''Tomboy'' is the fourth solo album by American musician Panda Bear (aka Noah Lennox), released on April 4, 2011 initially as an online stream and later physically. It was mixed by UK musician Sonic Boom. In contrast to the sample-based composition of the previous Panda Bear album '' Person Pitch'' (2007), the recording of ''Tomboy'' features a stripped-down sound built around guitar processed through Korg M3-M workstation modules. "Last Night at the Jetty" is the third single to be released by Panda Bear from ''Tomboy''. It was released December 13, 2010 by FatCat Records. The sleeve was designed by Scott Mou, Panda Bear's collaborator from the group Jane. The B side label of the record features an image of the Flatwoods Monster. The One Thirty BPM website gave the single a positive response with an 8/10 and proclaimed it 'succeeds'. Peter Kember (born 19 November 1965), also known by his stage name Sonic Boom, is an English singer and record producer. He was a founding member, vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist of alternative rock band Spacemen 3, lasting from 1982 until the band's dissolution in 1991. He is now based in Sintra, Portugal. He provided the production on MGMT's second album ''Congratulations,'' Panda Bear's albums ''Tomboy'' and ''Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper'', and Beach House's album '' 7''.
