Superstar (Brazil Season 2)
The second season of '' SuperStar'', premiered live on Rede Globo on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 11:30 p.m. ( BRT) and 10:30 p.m. (AMT) during the 2015–16 Brazilian television season. The winning band was entitled to a R$ 500,000 prize, a brand new Ford Ka and a recording contract with Som Livre. Host and experts Hosts Fernanda Lima and André Marques returned as the hosts, while actress Fernanda Paes Leme was replaced by TV host Rafa Brites as backstage interviewer. RPM (Brazilian Band)
RPM ("Revoluções por Minuto", "Revolutions per minute", in Brazilian Portuguese) is a Brazilian pop rock band. It was formed in 1983 by singer/bassist Paulo Ricardo, keyboardist Luiz Schiavon, guitarist Fernando Deluqui and drummer Paulo Antônio "P.A." Pagni. History RPM played soft techno-pop with strong, paradoxical influences from progressive rock and European synthpop. Their lyrics were pessimistic and ironic, and full of literary allusions to the likes of Arthur Rimbaud, Surrealism and Christiane F., and political references. The band was very successful in the mid-1980s, being considered the Rolling Stones of Brazil. Their live album ''Rádio Pirata ao vivo'' was the best-selling Brazilian record ever, with more than 3 million copies sold. The group's success was not limited to CD sales. Jair Rodrigues
Jair Rodrigues de Oliveira (February 6, 1939 – May 8, 2014) was a Brazilian musician and singer. He is the father of Luciana Mello and Jair Oliveira, who also followed in his footsteps and became musicians. Biography Born in Igarapava, Rodrigues grew up in Nova Europa, a city in the interior of the state of São Paulo, where he lived until 1954. Thereafter he moved with his family to São Carlos, where he started his musical career, as the city had the best nightlife in the region. Dominguinhos
José Domingos de Morais (12 February 1941 – 23 July 2013), better known as Dominguinhos, was a Brazilian composer, accordionist and singer. His principal musical influences were the music of Luiz Gonzaga, Forró and in general the music of the Sertão in the Brazilian Northeast. He further developed this typical Brazilian musical style, born out of the European, African and Indian influences in north-eastern Brazil, creating a unique style of Brazilian Popular Music. Luiz Gonzaga
Luiz Gonzaga do Nascimento (standard orthography 'Luís'; ; Exu, December 13, 1912 – Recife, August 2, 1989) was a Brazilian singer, songwriter, musician and poet and one of the most influential figures of Brazilian popular music in the twentieth century. He has been credited with having presented the rich universe of Northeastern musical genres to all of Brazil, having popularized the musical genre baião and has been called a "revolutionary" by Antônio Carlos Jobim.
