Supercopa De Costa Rica
The Supercopa de Costa Rica ( en, Costa Rican Supercup) is an association football competition held for club football teams in Costa Rica. The Supercopa de Costa Rica is a renewed Champion of Champions tournament in Costa Rica and affirm with the secretary of the Unafut, Jorge Romero, after the Assembly of Presidents and representatives of Costa Rican Primera División. The first tournament of the re-instated competition was held in 2012, and played at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica for the cup match. The objective is to face the champions of the Winter Championship a year before and the year's Summer Super Cup, however, not elect a champion of champions. If the monarch of the two short events is the same, would face the second place in the cumulative table both championships. Football is the most popular sport in Costa Rica. Costa Rica has long been considered an exporter of footballers within Central America, with 19 players in European professional football leagues during 2006. The newspaper, ''La Nación'', has prepared an annual census of these "Legionnaires" since 1994. The main professional league in the country is Costa Rican Primera División run by UNAFUT. Deportivo Saprissa
Deportivo Saprissa is a Costa Rican sports club, mostly known for its football team. The club is based in San Juan de Tibás, San José, and play their home games at the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa Aymá. The team's signature colours are purple (burgundy) and white. It is the main team representing the capital, but with the distinction of being massively followed throughout the whole country and overseas. The 2011–12 Primera División season is the 93rd of Costa Rica's top-flight professional football league. The season was divided into two championships: the Invierno and the Verano. The season began on 31 July 2011. Promotion and relegation Universidad de Costa Rica finished last season in last place in the overall table at the end of last season and were relegated to the Segunda División. Replacing them in the league for this season are the overall champions of last season's Segunda División competition, Belén Siglo XXI. Barrio México were expelled from last year's competition during the 2011 Verano tournament and were eventually relegated from the league due to various financial difficulties. Limón Fútbol Club
Limón (), commonly known as Puerto Limón, is a district, the capital city and main hub of Limón province, as well as of the Limón canton in Costa Rica. It is the seventh largest city in Costa Rica, with a population of over 55,000, and is home of the Afro-Costa Rican community. Part of the community traces its roots to Italian, Jamaican and Chinese laborers who worked on a late nineteenth-century railroad project that connected San José to Puerto Limón. Until 1948, the Costa Rican government did not recognize Afro-Caribbean people as citizens and restricted their movement outside Limón province.
