''Superbloom'' is the debut studio album by Australian musician Ashton Irwin, the drummer and backing vocals for Australian pop rock band 5 Seconds of Summer. Musically, the album departs from the band's signature pop-punk sound, with Irwin opting for an alternative approach. The album was preceded by three singles and was released on 23 October 2020. Background and release On 23 September 2020, Irwin announced the release of his debut solo album, titled ''Superbloom'', which was released on 23 October 2020. It was preceded by the single, "Skinny Skinny", a track about issues concerning body image, something Irwin says he has "never confronted in a creative form". Ashton Fletcher Irwin (born 7 July 1994) is an Australian musician, best known as the drummer of the pop rock band 5 Seconds of Summer. Since 2014, 5 Seconds of Summer have sold more than 10 million albums, sold over 2 million concert tickets worldwide, and the band's songs streams surpass 7 billion, making them one of the most successful Australian musical exports in history. "Heart-Shaped Box" is a song by the American rock band Nirvana, written by vocalist and guitarist, Kurt Cobain. It appears as the third track on the band's third and final studio album, ''In Utero'', released by DGC Records in September 1993. It was one of two songs on ''In Utero'' remixed by Scott Litt prior to the album's release, due to the band's dissatisfaction with the original mixing by producer Steve Albini.
