''Sunny Days'' is the second studio album released by American girl band Allure. It was released by MCA Records on September 25, 2001 in the United States. Conceived after the folding of their debut label, singer Mariah Carey's record company Crave Records, it marked the quartet's debut with MCA as well as their first full-length release in four years. ''Sunny Days'' peaked at number 68 on the US ''Billboard'' Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums. Critical reception Allmusic editor Liana Jonas found that "within minutes of listening to the disc, audiences will think, 'this is like all the other girl-group R&B fare on the radio today'. And it is. ''Sunny Days'' is rife with contemporary danceable grooves, guest flows, urban flavor, and several grab-the-Kleenex Kleenex is a brand name for a variety of paper-based products such as facial tissue, bathroom tissue, paper towels, tampons, and diapers. Contemporary R&B
Contemporary R&B (or simply R&B) is a popular music genre that combines rhythm and blues with elements of pop, soul, funk, hip hop, and electronic music. The genre features a distinctive record production style, drum machine-backed rhythms, pitch corrected vocals, and a smooth, lush style of vocal arrangement. Electronic influences are becoming an increasing trend and the use of hip hop or dance-inspired beats are typical, although the roughness and grit inherent in hip hop may be reduced and smoothed out. Contemporary R&B vocalists often use melisma, and since the mid-1980s, R&B rhythms have been combined with elements of hip hop culture and music and pop culture and pop music. Pre-history According to Geoffrey Himes speaking in 1989, the progressive soul movement of the early 1970s "expanded the musical and lyrical boundaries of &Bin ways that haven't been equaled since". This movement was led by soul singer-songwriter/producers such as Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye, ...

Allure (album)
''Allure'' is the debut studio album by American girl group Allure (group), Allure. It was released by Crave Records on May 6, 1997 in the United States. Critical reception Allmusic senior editor Stephen Thomas Erlewine found that executive producer Mariah "Carey's clout certainly helped Allure to line up celebrity collaborators [...] but it also meant that the album would be scrutinized in detail, which is unfair to any new vocal group. Allure do acquit themselves well on their debut, singing with passion and flair – it's clear they have talent. They are somewhat undone by inconsistent material, yet there are several instances where they make a song their own, and that's what makes Allure a promising debut." Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums
Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums is a music chart published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine that ranks R&B and hip hop albums based on sales in the United States and is compiled by Nielsen SoundScan. The chart debuted as Hot R&B LPs in the issue dated January 30, 1965 in an effort by the magazine to further expand into the field of rhythm and blues music. It then went through several name changes, being known as Soul LPs in the 1970s and Top Black Albums in the 1980s, before returning to the R&B identification in 1990 and affixing a hip hop designation in 1999 to reflect the latter's growing sales and relationship to R&B during the decade. From 1965 through 2009, the chart was compiled based on reported sales at a core panel of stores with a "higher-than-average volume" of R&B and/or hip-hop album sales to monitor buying trends of the African-American community. This panel included more independent and smaller chain stores compared to the high percentage of mass merchants that account for ...

Allmusic
AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne. History AllMusic was launched as ''All Music Guide'' by Michael Erlewine, a "compulsive archivist, noted astrologer, Buddhist scholar and musician". He became interested in using computers for his astrological work in the mid-1970s and founded a software company, Matrix, in 1977. In the early 1990s, as CDs replaced LPs as the dominant format for recorded music, Erlewine purchased what he thought was a CD of early recordings by Little Richard. After buying it he discovered it was a "flaccid latter-day rehash". Frustrated with the labeling, he researched using metadata to create a music guide. In 1990, in Big Rapids, Michigan, he founded ''All Music Guide' ...
