Sunnmørsalpane ( en, Sunnmøre Alps) is a collective term for the mountains range in the Sunnmøre region of Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The mountain range encircles the Hjørundfjorden in the municipalities of Volda, Ørsta, Stranda, and Sykkylven. These mountains have peaks reaching straight up from the fjord. Well-known peaks include Slogen, Randers Topp, Jakta, Kolåstinden, Hornindalsrokken, Kvitegga, Skårasalen, and Råna. Jakta is a tall mountain in the Sunnmørsalpene mountain range. It is located in the municipality of Ørsta in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. Hornindalsrokken
Hornindalsrokken is a tall mountain in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located on the border of two municipalities: Stranda Municipality and Volda Municipality. The mountain is sometimes also called ''Honndalsrokken'' or sometimes just ''Rokken'' or ''Rokkjen''. The mountain is located about northeast of the village of Grodås and lake Hornindalsvatnet. It is also located about west of the village of Hellesylt in Stranda Municipality. It also lies about southeast of the village of Leira in Volda Municipality. The mountain Kvitegga is to the northeast on the Ørsta/Stranda municipal border. Skårasalen
Skårasalen is a mountain in the municipality of Ørsta in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The tall mountain has the seventh largest prominence () of all mountains in Norway. The mountain is located about south of the village of Sæbø and the Bondalen valley in the Hjørundfjord area of Ørsta. The nearby mountain, Jakta, lies directly to the east on the opposite side of the fjord. Skårasalen lies within the Sunnmørsalpene mountain range along the southern shores of the Hjørundfjorden. Access is easiest from the Kvistad valley on the western side. An alternative descent for skiing is a steep route straight down to the fjord on the eastern side, and then to return via a hired boat. Kolåstinden is a mountain in the municipality of Ørsta, Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. Slogen
Slogen is a mountain rising up from Hjørundfjorden in the municipality of Ørsta in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The mountain is located just west of the municipal boundary with Stranda and just north of the nearby mountain Jakta. Many famous Norwegians have been on the top of this mountain, including most notably Queen Sonja of Norway. Even though it is not among the highest peaks in Norway, the tall mountain is rated among the top ten mountain walks in Norway. This is largely due to its beauty, view, and the fact that it's rising directly from the fjord. Legend has it that Slogen was first climbed in 1870 by Jon Klokk. Later on that year it was climbed by the famous climber and alpine explorer William Cecil Slingsby. The latter wrote about the view from Slogen as "one of the proudest in Europe".
