''Sunday'' was an Australian current affairs, arts and politics program, broadcast nationally on Sunday mornings on the Nine Network Australia. The program covered a range of topical issues including local and overseas news, politics, and in-depth stories on Australia and the world, plus independent film reviews, independent arts features, and independent music reviews. Its final show aired on Sunday, 3 August 2008. History The announcement of the launch of the private and independent breakfast television and Canberra-produced politics program on 22 October 1981 inspired controversy, as it was then practice to fill the spot with religious programming. ''A Current Affair'' (or ''ACA'') is an Australian current affairs program airing weeknights and Saturday nights on the Nine Network. The program is currently hosted by Allison Langdon (Monday–Thursday) and Deborah Knight (Friday and Saturday). History 1970s ''A Current Affair'' was first broadcast on 22 November 1971, with Mike Willesee, screening weeknights at 7:00 p.m., and was broadcast for GTV-9. For part of its early run, the comedian and actor Paul Hogan had a comic social commentary segment. Under Willesee, ACA was a Transmedia production for the Nine Network. When Willesee left Nine in 1974 to move to the rival 0–10 Network (now known as Network 10), journalist Mike Minehan took over presenting ''ACA''. Hugh Riminton
Hugh Riminton (born 1961) is an Australian foreign correspondent, journalist and television news presenter. He is currently national affairs editor and occasional presenter of ''10 News First'' (formerly ''Ten Eyewitness News''). He previously co-anchored ''Ten Eyewitness News'' with Sandra Sully until February 2017. Early life and education Born in Sri Lanka, where his father managed tea estates, Riminton migrated to New Zealand when he was five. He began work as a cadet reporter, aged 17 in Christchurch before moving to Australia in 1983 to work for the Macquarie Radio Network in Perth, Western Australia, Perth and Melbourne. Graham Hunt Davis (born 7 October 1953) is a Walkley Award and Logie Award winning Fijian-born Australian journalist. He hosts a weekly Australian television program, The Great Divide on the Southern Cross Austereo TV Networkand is a consultant to the Washington-based global communications company Qorvis on its Fiji account. Early life Davis was born in Suva, Fiji, the elder son of the Rev Peter Davis, who served as President of the Methodist Church in Fiji and, later, New South Wales Moderator of the Uniting Church in Australia. Helen Dalley (born 1957) is an Australian journalist, who formerly worked for Kerry Packer's Publishing and Broadcasting Limited (PBL) media stable. Bob Carr
Robert John Carr (born 28 September 1947) is an Australian retired politician and journalist who served as the 39th Premier of New South Wales from 1995 to 2005, as the leader of the NSW Branch of the Australian Labor Party (ALP). He later entered federal politics as a New South Wales senator, and served as Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2012 to 2013. Following his departure from politics he served as the Director of the Australia-China Relations Institute (ACRI) from 2014 to 2019 at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Ali Moore
Ali Moore (born 1964) is an Australian TV journalist and radio broadcaster. Career Moore began her career in 1987 as a cadet for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), where she was active in a number of programmes. In 1996 she moved to the Nine Network, where she was a reporter and eventually presenter of ''Business Sunday''. Shortly after Moore left ''Business Sunday'' merged into the ''Sunday'' program.
