Summa
Summa and its diminutive summula (plural ''summae'' and ''summulae'', respectively) was a medieval didactics literary genre written in Latin, born during the 12th century, and popularized in 13th century Europe. In its simplest sense, they might be considered texts that 'sum up' knowledge in a field, such as the compendiums of theology, philosophy and canon law. Their function during the Middle Ages was largely as manuals or handbooks of necessary knowledge used by individuals who would not advance their studies any further. Features It was a kind of encyclopedia that developed a matter about Law, Theology or Philosophy most of all. Matters were divided in a more detailed way as it was in the ''tractatus'' (treatise), since they were divided into ''quaestiones'' (questions) and these ones were also divided into ''articles''. The ''Summa Theologiae'' or ''Summa Theologica'' (), often referred to simply as the ''Summa'', is the best-known work of Thomas Aquinas (1225–1274), a scholasticism, scholastic theologian and Doctor of the Church. It is a compendium of all of the main theology, theological teachings of the Catholic Church, intended to be an instructional guide for theology students, including Seminary, seminarians and the literate laity. Summa Contra Gentiles
The ''Summa contra Gentiles'' (also known as ', "Book on the truth of the Catholic faith against the errors of the unbelievers") is one of the best-known treatises by St Thomas Aquinas, written as four books between 1259 and 1265. Whereas the '' Summa Theologiæ'' was written to explain the Christian faith to theology students, the ''Summa contra Gentiles'' is more apologetic in tone. While the last book deals with topics of revealed theology such as trinity, incarnation, and the sacraments, the remaining three books limit themselves to Natural Theology: Arguments on the basis of reason, Thomas believes, will be understood also by those who do not believe in Christian revelation. Samma, Jordan
Samma ( ar, صمّا) is a village in northern Jordan, located 80 kilometers north of the capital Amman and about 18 km West of the city Irbid. It is perched on a hilltop above sea level overlooking Jordan Valley and the Sea of Tiberias. It lies in the Al-Taybeh Department is one of the nine departments that constitute the Irbid Governorate , It covers 13.76 km2 and has a population of 15761 people (as of 2015). Summa Corporation was a holding company for the business interests of Howard Hughes after he sold the tool division of Hughes Tool Company in 1972. Its holdings included casino hotels, aviation businesses, and television channels.
