Sugar Mama was originally produced by the James O. Welch Company in 1965, as a companion candy to the already-produced Sugar Babies and Sugar Daddy. "Sugar Mama" or "Sugar Mama Blues" is a song that is a standard of the blues. Called a "tautly powerful slow blues" by music journalist Charles Shaar Murray, it has been recorded by numerous artists, including early Chicago bluesmen Tampa Red, Sonny Boy Williamson I, and Tommy McClennan. John Lee Hooker and Howlin' Wolf later adapted "Sugar Mama" for electric blues and rock group Led Zeppelin reworked it during early recording sessions. The Dirty Rooks
The Dirty Rooks are an American rock band from Chicago, Illinois. History The band was formed by Grant Gholson and Dan Stalilonis as Moustache in 2003, but were forced to abandon the name after being booked for a gig intended for another band of the same name. After Ben Hunt and Nathan Urbansky (originally billed as Nathan Urqhuart) joined in 2005, the group changed its name to The Dirty Rooks. According to band members, the name comes from the slang use of the word "rook" meaning to swindle or cheat and derived from the thieving, magpie-like tendencies of the common rook. As they played in various small clubs in Chicago, The Dirty Rooks began receiving notice as a classic blues-rock revival group similar to The Black Crowes. Dua Saleh ( ar, دعاء صالح ', Sudanese ) is a Sudanese-American singer and actor based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Their debut EP ''Nūr'' was released in January 2019 by the Against Giants record label to critical acclaim, with their second, ''Rosetta'', released in June the following year. Saleh, who came to the United States from Sudan as a child, wrote poetry from an early age. While attending Augsburg University, they began to experiment with music, eventually releasing a demo in 2017. Shortly after, they began to work with local producer Psymun and began performing their music live, culminating in their 2019 EP release.
