Sugar Camp is a town in Oneida County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,694 at the 2010 census. The unincorporated community of Sugar Camp is located in the town History Sugar Camp was known as 'Robbins' until the 1940s. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, and other sources, the town has a total area of 98.0 square miles (253.9 km2), of which, 88.9 square miles (230.2 km2) of it is land and 9.1 square miles (23.7 km2) of it (9.33%) is water. Education The community is served by Sugar Camp Elementary School, which is part of the Three Lakes School District. A beach is a landform alongside a body of water which consists of loose particles. State Trunk Highway 17 (often called Highway 17, STH-17 or WIS 17) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The highway is a secondary route in northeastern Wisconsin that directly connects Rhinelander, Eagle River and the central and eastern parts of Michigan's Upper Peninsula with Wausau, Wisconsin and points south and west. Route description WIS 17 begins at WIS 64, about a half mile east of WIS 64's interchange with US 51 near Merrill. From there, WIS 17 heads northeast, passing the Prairie Dells area and crossing several county routes in Bloomville and Gleason. The highway briefly crosses over out of Lincoln County into Langlade County, Wisconsin The highway then passes through Parrish and turns northwestward and returns to Lincoln County, briefly cutting through Oneida County in the process.
