"Suga's Interlude" (Suga being stylized in all upper case) is a song by American singer Halsey and South Korean rapper Suga of boy band BTS. It was released on December 6, 2019 through Capitol Records as the third promotional single from Halsey's third studio album, '' Manic'' (2020). The song was released simultaneously with the album's second promotional single " Finally // Beautiful Stranger". Background and composition In an Instagram live, Halsey explained why she included Suga on the track, stating "Yoongi is really introspective and has this really intelligent perspective on where we are and what we are doing in our unique lifestyles". "Suga's Interlude" is a "downtrodden" K-pop ballad based around a "somber piano melody", exploring themes of fulfilment, self-loathing and egotism while "encouraging fans to keep pursuing their dreams and look to the future". Ashley Nicolette Frangipane ( ; born September 29, 1994), known professionally as Halsey ( ), is an American singer and songwriter. She was born and raised in New Jersey. Gaining attention from self-released music on social media platforms, she was signed by Astralwerks in 2014 and released her debut EP, '' Room 93'', later that year. She released her debut studio album, ''Badlands'', in 2015. The album was later certified Double Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), as were its tracks " Colors" and "Gasoline". The Circle Digital Chart, previously known as the Gaon Digital Chart, is the music industry standard record chart ranking the 200 most popular singles in South Korea. It provides rankings on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis, which is based on an aggregate of streaming, downloads and background music from major South Korean music platforms. Recording Industry Association Singapore (RIAS) is an organisation that represents the music industry in Singapore and national representative of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. The ARIA Digital Track Chart ranks the highest selling legally downloaded music tracks within Australia and is provided by the Australian Recording Industry Association. History The Digital Track Chart was established in 2006 and first published on 9 April. Later that year in October it was announced that the sales from physical singles and digital downloads would be integrated with the official Top 100 singles chart which commenced on 8 October.
