The Styrian motorcycle Grand Prix was a motorcycling event that was introduced during the 2020 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season and retained for the 2021 season as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 Styrian motorcycle Grand Prix (officially known as the BMW M Grand Prix of Styria) was a Grand Prix motorcycle racing race held at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg on 23 August 2020. It was the sixth round of the 2020 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season and the fifth round of the 2020 MotoGP World Championship. It was the first running of the Styrian motorcycle Grand Prix, and was held exactly one week after the 2020 Austrian Grand Prix on the same track, due to the rescheduling of the season because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 FIM MotoGP World Championship was the premier class of the 72nd F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Pedro Acosta Sánchez (born 25 May 2004) is a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle racer, competing in Moto2 for the Red Bull KTM Ajo team. He is best known for winning the 2021 Moto3 World Championship in his first year, becoming the first rookie champion since Loris Capirossi in 1990, and the second youngest ever champion, just one day older than Capirossi was at the time of winning.
