Stuart Matthew Price
Matthew Price (born 6 August 1983 in Kidderminster, England) is a British actor, dancer and West End stage and concert singer known for playing Riff Raff in three European tours of ''The Rocky Horror Show''. He is also a composer, having written ''Before After'' (2014) and ''Imaginary'' (2017) among other musicals and a theatrical producer, being a co-founder with James Yeoburn of the international production company United Theatrical. Early life Price is the second son of Shelley Price and William Price and sibling to older brother Daniel Price. Originating from the West Midlands, Price actually grew up in Bedhampton, near Portsmouth. The Edinburgh Festival Theatre (originally Empire Palace Theatre and later shortened to Empire Theatre) is a performing arts venue located on Nicolson Street in Edinburgh, Scotland. Southwark Playhouse is a theatre in London, located between Borough and Elephant and Castle tube stations. History The Southwark Playhouse Theatre Company was founded in 1993 by Juliet Alderdice and Tom Wilson. They identified the need for a high quality accessible theatre which would also act as a major resource for the community. They leased a disused workshop in a then comparatively neglected part of Southwark and turned it into a flexible theatre space. The theatre quickly put down strong roots in Southwark, developing an innovative, free-at-source education programme. ''The A–Z of Mrs P'' is a musical conceived by Neil Marcus and written by British playwright Diane Samuels and British composer Gwyneth Herbert. Described as "a musical fable inspired by the autobiographies of Phyllis Pearsall", it tells the story of Phyllis Pearsall's creation of the London A to Z street atlas. ''The A–Z of Mrs P'' was performed in workshop with actress Sophie Thompson in May 2011. It opened in London at Southwark Playhouse on 21 February 2014, starring ''Peep Show'' actress Isy Suttie and Frances Ruffelle. The Southwark Playhouse production received a four-starred review in ''The Times''. Herbert won the Stiles and Drewe Song of the Year Award with her composition "Lovely London Town", one of the songs in the show. ''Parade'' is a musical with a book by Alfred Uhry and music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown. The musical is a dramatization of the 1913 trial and imprisonment, and 1915 lynching, of Jewish American Leo Frank in Georgia. The musical premiered on Broadway in December 1998 and won Tony Awards for Best Book and Best Original Score (out of nine nominations) and six Drama Desk Awards.
