Fantan Mojah
Owen Moncrieffe (born 5 August 1976) known professionally as Fantan Mojah is a Jamaican reggae singer. Biography Fantan Mojah was born in White Hill, St Elizabeth Parish, Jamaica. To gain experience, he took a job working with a traveling Sound system (Jamaican), soundsystem, and performed songs during soundchecks. He adopted the name Mad Killer, in an homage to one of his favorite artists, Bounty Killer. After being exposed to the Rastafarian movement his music began to take on a more positive tone, and he was encouraged by Capleton to take the name Fantan Mojah. Lyrical Themes Fantan Mojah is notable for being one of the new wave of contemporary reggae singers who prefer to include positive themes in their lyrics. Like some popular new reggae singers, he is a Bobo Ashanti. His faith is reflected in his lyrics, where some recurring themes are - praise for Jah and messages of Rastafari, positive portrayal of women, and condemnation of ill morals. Reggae () is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1960s. The term also denotes the modern popular music of Jamaica and its diaspora. A 1968 single by Toots and the Maytals, " Do the Reggay" was the first popular song to use the word "reggae", effectively naming the genre and introducing it to a global audience. While sometimes used in a broad sense to refer to most types of popular Jamaican dance music, the term ''reggae'' more properly denotes a particular music style that was strongly influenced by traditional mento as well as American jazz and rhythm and blues, and evolved out of the earlier genres ska and rocksteady. Bost & Bim
Bost & Bim is a French dancehall reggae production duo, consisting of Matthieu Bost and Jérémie Dessus. They have worked with Jamaican and European reggae artists such as Capleton, Morgan Heritage, Sizzla, Gentleman, and Admiral T. Start of career Bost & Bim started work in the early 1990s, respectively as saxophonist and guitarist in different bands, and play on tour with many Jamaican and European artists. Since 1999, Bost & Bim have worked as record producers and have worked on international lineup ''riddims'' (rhythms) with the label Special Delivery Music, and with their own label "The Bombist", along with collaborations on albums by other artists.
