Strausberg Hegermühle Station
Strausberg () is a town in Brandenburg, Germany, located 30 km east of Berlin. With a population of about 27,000 it is the largest town in the district of Märkisch-Oderland. History Strausberg was founded ''circa'' 1240, and in 1333 its first town hall was built. Today, a historic defensive wall borders the old town. In the 19th century, industrialization took place and the town developed a local labour movement, including union structures and a local branch of both the Social Democratic and the Communist Party of Germany. After 1945, the town became part of East Germany and the seat of its Ministry of National Defence. Strausberg was the administrative seat of the Strausberg district, until a 1993 merger with Bad Freienwalde and Seelow formed "Märkisch-Oderland", with Seelow becoming the new administrative seat of the district. Straussee
The Straussee is a German lake located in Strausberg, Brandenburg. It is situated about north-east of the city of Berlin. The town of Strausberg occupies the eastern shore of the lake, whilst the forest of the Strausberger Forest is on the western shore. Overview The lake is approximately long and wide, with an average depth of and a maximum depth of . It is crossed in its middle by the Straussee Ferry, an unusual electrically propelled passenger cable ferry. The lake is relatively rich in fish, and is popular with both Recreational fishing, anglers and commercial fisherman, fishermen. The Berlin/Brandenburg metropolitan region (german: Metropolregion Berlin-Brandenburg) or capital region (german: Hauptstadtregion Berlin-Brandenburg) is one of eleven metropolitan regions of Germany, consisting of the entire territories of the state of Berlin and the surrounding state of Brandenburg. Rüdersdorf
Rüdersdorf is a municipality in the district Märkisch-Oderland, in Brandenburg, Germany, near Berlin. It is served by the Schöneiche bei Berlin tramway which runs from Rüdersdorf through Schöneiche to Berlin-Friedrichshagen station on the Berlin S-Bahn network. Rehfelde
Rehfelde is a municipality in the district Märkisch-Oderland, in Brandenburg, Germany. History With the foundation of a plywood mill in 1906, the first manufacturing company came to Rehfelde. On September 3, 1907 the night the express train from Insterburg to Berlin derailed at a speed of about 85 km/h near Rehfelde station. On July 12, 1908 set up twelve citizens a volunteer fire department. In the early 20th century, the population rose sharply. This was due to rising rents in Berlin, which led to an increased influx. During World War I 24 community residents lost their lives. In 1922, the local branch of the Communist Party of Germany, five years later the Social Democratic Party were founded. In the period of National Socialism, some citizens of the municipality resisted the Nazis, including the communist Wilhelm Betke and the pastor Otto Perel.
