Strathblane Football Club was a Scotland, Scottish Football (soccer), football club located in Strathblane, Stirlingshire. History The club was founded in 1877 and its earliest recorded fixture was against the 10th Dumbartonshire Rifle Volunteers F.C., 10th D.R.V. in December 1877. Strathblane was one of the first six senior clubs to be founded in Stirlingshire. It was a regular entrant to the Scottish Cup from 1878–79 Scottish Cup, 1878–79 for 7 seasons. 1882–83 Scottish Cup
The 1882–83 Scottish Cup – officially the Scottish Football Association Challenge Cup – was the tenth season of Scotland's most prestigious football knockout competition. Dumbarton won the cup for the first, and so far only, time when they beat Vale of Leven 2–1 in a replayed final. Defending champions Queen's Park were knock-out by eventual winners Dumbarton in the quarter-finals. Calendar As with the previous competitions, the eighth edition of the Scottish Cup took on the format of a traditional knockout tournament. For the earlier rounds, the names of competing teams were placed into lots according to their districts and drawn into pairs. Stenhousemuir (; gd, Featha Thaigh nan Clach) is a town in the Central Lowlands of Scotland. It lies within the Falkirk council area of Scotland. The town is north-northwest of Falkirk and directly adjoins to Larbert in the west, where the nearest rail access is located. The villages of Carron and Carronshore adjoin Stenhousemuir to the east but to a lesser extent. At the 2001 census it showed that it had a resident population of 10,351 but according to a 2009 estimate this was revised to around 10,190 residents. The combined population of the four localities in 2011 was 24,722, representing about 15% of the Falkirk council area total. In 2008, a £15 million town centre development scheme was completed and opened which provided a new civic square, a library and large retailing outlets for Stenhousemuir.
