Stop LGBT Aggression
On 7 August 2020, a protest against the arrest of LGBT activist Margot led to a confrontation with police in central Warsaw, Poland, which resulted in the arrest of 47 others, some of whom were protesting, and others who were bystanders. The event was called – translated as Rainbow Night – and was dubbed "Polish Stonewall" by some outlets, in an analogy to the 1969 Stonewall riots. Declarations of LGBT-free zones in 2019 and 2020 and the 2020 Polish presidential electionwhich saw President Andrzej Duda repeatedly stress his opposition to LGBT rightshave led to protest from LGBT rights activists, who adopted direct action tactics. LGBT Rights In Poland
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in Poland face legal challenges not faced by non-LGBT residents. According to ILGA-Europe's 2022 report, the status of LGBTQ rights in Poland is the worst among European Union countries. Both male and female same-sex sexual activity have been legal in Poland since 1932, when the country introduced an equal age of consent for homosexuals and heterosexuals, which was set at 15. Poland provides LGBT people with the same rights as heterosexuals in certain areas: gay and bisexual men are allowed to donate blood, gays and bisexuals are allowed to serve openly in the Polish Armed Forces, and transgender people are allowed to change their legal gender following certain requirements including undergoing hormone replacement therapy. Kaja Godek
Kaja Godek is a Polish ultra-conservative activist and leader of the foundation ("life and family"). She proposed a law against abortion () in 2013 and a law against LGBT marches () in 2021. The anti-abortion proposal did not pass the first parliamentary reading while the anti-LGBT proposal did and is to be worked on by parliamentary committees. Presenting her anti-LGBT project in the lower house of Poland's parliament (the Sejm), Godek claimed that LGBT activists pay children to attend their parades. In 2016, she registered the foundation. YouTube blocked the account of said foundation in 2019 for inciting hate. In 2019, Godek ran for the European Parliament for the far-right Confederation Liberty and Independence, but failed to obtain a seat. Krzysztof Bosak
Krzysztof Bosak (, born 13 June 1982) is a far-right Polish politician. He was a member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Sejm for the League of Polish Families from 2005 to 2007 and has been a member of the Sejm again since 2019 for the Confederation Freedom and Independence, Confederation. Bosak was the chairman of the All-Polish Youth from 2005 to 2006 and was one of the founders and the current vice-chairman of the National Movement (Poland), National Movement. The All-Polish Youth ( pl, Młodzież Wszechpolska) refers to two inter-linked Polish far-right ultranationalist youth organizations, with a Catholic-nationalist philosophy. Its agenda declares that its aim is "''to raise Polish youth in a Catholic and patriotic spirit''". The inter-war incarnation was created in 1922 as part of the National Democracy movement, and was modelled after the inter-war fascist movement Falanga. During World War II it operated underground and was clamped down on the break of 1945/1946 by the Communist authorities. The present incarnation was created on December 2, 1989. Mariusz Kamiński
Mariusz Kamiński (born 25 September 1965 in Sochaczew) is a Polish politician who served as the head of the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA) from August 2006 to October 2009. Since 14 August 2019, he has served as the Minister of the Interior and Administration, in addition to coordinating Polish secret services, which he had done previously as a minister without portfolio. Bartosz (Bart) Staszewski (born 23 September 1990 in Malmö, Sweden) is a Polish filmmaker and LGBT activist.
