Stony Point Railway Line
The Stony Point line is a greater-metropolitan railway line in Melbourne, Australia. The line extends from the Frankston line and is part of the city's suburban passenger railway network, and the Myki integrated ticketing system (Zone 2), but is not electrified like the rest of Melbourne's rail network. It has operated with a variety of rolling stock, and was the last suburban service in Australia to be operated by a locomotive hauled train. The line is also used by freight trains serving the Long Island steel mill in Hastings. Services Passenger services are run as a shuttle service between Frankston and Stony Point, with passengers from Flinders Street required to change at Frankston station. It is the only non-electrified line operated by Metro Trains, which operates Melbourne's suburban heavy rail network. Stony Point is a hamlet and census-designated place in the town of Stony Point, Rockland County, New York, United States. It is located north of West Haverstraw, east of Harriman State Park, south of Tomkins Cove, and west of the Hudson River. The population was 12,147 at the 2010 census. Stony Point (Surgoinsville, Tennessee)
Stony Point is a historic house in Surgoinsville, Tennessee, U.S.. It was built prior to 1791 on a land grant given to William Armstrong in the 1780s. With It is "one of the earliest brick dwellings built in the state" of Tennessee. Armstrong lived here with his wife, née Elizabeth Galbraith, and their children. In 1797, Armstrong invited French King Louis Philippe to his estate. By the 1970s, the house had remained in the Armstrong family. Stony Point Battlefield
Stony Point Battlefield is a historic site in Rockland County, New York; the location of the 1779 Battle of Stony Point during the American Revolutionary War. It is a National Historic Landmark and has a museum. History The site was purchased and preserved in the late 1890s, and opened to the public in 1902. A flying stunt was flown during the July 16, 1929 sesquicentennial of the Stony Point Battlefield, in front of a crowd of over 8,000 dignitaries.
