Stoneville is a census-designated place and unincorporated community located in northeastern Washington County, Mississippi. Deer Creek flows through Stoneville. A post office was established in 1876, and remains open. Stoneville was incorporated in 1882, though it is no longer incorporated. Stoneville was a stop on the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad, established in the 1880s, and a stop on the Columbus and Greenville Railway, established in the 1920s. Stoneville, North Carolina
Stoneville is a town in Rockingham County, North Carolina, United States. Stoneville is part of the Greensboro–High Point metropolitan area of the Piedmont Triad. History Settlers came to the ridge between the Mayo and Dan rivers in the northwest Piedmont region in the early 1800s. In 1827, the Deep Springs Plantation was built for James Madison Scales and his wife Elizabeth Lesuer in what is now Stoneville. In 1843 the R.H. Lewis Tobacco company was established in the south side of the land that was to become the town of Stoneville. In the late 1850s, brothers Thomas and Pinkney Stone bought land in the area. On March 5, 1877, the town was officially incorporated. A natural stop on the Norfolk-Western rail line, Stoneville became the trade hub for the surrounding localities and profited off of tobacco, cotton and grist-milling industries. Stoneville, Western Australia
Stoneville is a suburb east of Perth in the Shire of Mundaring, Western Australia. It is named after Edward Albert Stone, who was Chief Justice of Western Australia when the place was named in 1905. The name was chosen by the local residents, who were developing the district for fruit growing. The town's population is 2,050, with a median age of 36 years and 7.1% of residents aged over 65. In a bushfire in January 2014 a considerable number of houses were destroyed. In 2019 local residents resorted to activism in a bid to stop the proposed North Stoneville SP34 development in favour of more sustainable housing.
