Stokley, Missouri
Stokley (also spelled Stokeley) is an unincorporated community in northwest Pettis County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The community is approximately five miles northwest of LaMonte and six miles northeast of Knob Noster in adjacent Johnson County. It is on a county road 1.5 miles west of Missouri Route 127 Route 127 is a highway in central Missouri. Stokley Williams
Stokley Williams (born July 15, 1967) also known simply as Stokley, is an American singer, record producer, and percussionist. Williams is best known as the lead singer and studio drummer of the band Mint Condition. Career In 2011, he was featured on Kelly Price's song "Not My Daddy" from her album ''Kelly'' which earned him his first Grammy nomination for Best R&B Performance. In 2017 Williams joined The Revolution on tour, to pay tribute to Prince. Also in 2017, Williams released his Bluraffe/Concord Records solo debut ''Introducing Stokley'', with production by himself as well as Philadelphia production team Carvin & Ivan. Brandon Stokley
Brandon Ray Stokley (born June 23, 1976) is a former American football wide receiver and current radio personality. He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round of the 1999 NFL Draft. He played college football at University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Stokley also played for the Indianapolis Colts, Seattle Seahawks, New York Giants, and Denver Broncos, earning three Super Bowl wins during his career. Personal life His father, Nelson Stokley, played college football at LSU and was the head coach of the Louisiana–Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns from 1986 to 1998. Brandon played wide receiver under his father from 1994 to 1997, with Jake Delhomme as quarterback through the 1996 season. Jimmy Stokley
Exile is an American band originally formed in 1963. In the 1970s, they were known as a rock band that had a major hit single with "Kiss You All Over" in 1978. After several lineup changes, the band was re-launched as a country act that achieved additional success in the 1980s and '90s. J.P. Pennington is the only current member of the band remaining from its early days. Career Early years The origins of Exile were with a high school band in Richmond, Kentucky, called the Fascinations, which featured singer Jimmy Stokley. In 1963, the Fascinations merged with another local band and became Jimmy Stokley and the Exiles, with singer/guitarist J.P. Pennington, then age 14, joining a short time later. They toured regionally with the Dick Clark Caravan of Stars in 1965. Their name was later shortened to The Exiles, apparently to show support for Cuban refugees. Nelson Stokley
Nelson Stokley (March 12, 1944 – June 5, 2010) was an American college football quarterback and coach. Stokley attended Louisiana State University (LSU) from 1965 to 1967 and helped lead the LSU Tigers to victories in the 1966 Cotton Bowl and the 1968 Sugar Bowl. Stokley was the head coach of the Southwestern Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns from 1986 to 1998 and led the team to a 62–80–1 record. Stokley's 62 win are second most among head coaches in Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football history, behind Russ Faulkinberry's 66. Stokley and Faulkinberry are tied for the longest tenure as head coach with 13 seasons. Stokley was also the quarterbacks coach for the Virginia Tech Hokies from 1974 to 1978 and the offensive coordinator for the Clemson Tigers from 1979 to 1985.
