Sto zvířat is a Czech Republic, Czech club band which plays ska and reggae music. The band was formed in 1990 in Prague on the base of rock 'n' roll band Matěj Čech. The band performs on many festivals e.g. Zámostí, Rock for People, Sázavafest, United Islands of Prague, Mezi ploty, Colours of Ostrava, etc. History Drummer Jan Kalina, Kalina and saxophone player Tomáš Belko, Belko began to compose music during their student's years in Matěj Čech rock 'n' roll band (founded in 1983). The group combined rock 'n' roll music with playful lyrics typical for their future band Sto zvířat. They split up in 1988. Belko joined Garáž (later Garage) for a brief time. Belko and Kalina reunited in 1990 and formed Sto zvířat. The band's initial concert was held in Malostranská beseda in the autumn of 1990. Miroslav Žbirka
Miroslav "Miro" Žbirka (21 October 1952 – 10 November 2021) was a Slovak pop and rock singer and songwriter, widely popular in 1980s Czechoslovakia. Born in Bratislava to a Slovak father and an English mother, he sang in Slovak, English, and Czech. He sometimes recorded in London, but lived in Slovakia and since early 1990s in Prague, Czech Republic, where he died. In the late 1970s, Žbirka co-founded two Czechoslovak pop music bands, Modus and Limit. In 1982, he rose to fame by winning the annual Zlatý slavík award for the best male singer in Czechoslovakia. After the 1992 division of Czechoslovakia, he repeated this achievement in the Slovak annual Slávik Awards, coming number one in the annual end of year charts in 2002, 2004 and 2005. Žbirka had some performances with Jon Anderson in 2012. Wohnout
Wohnout is a Czech alternative rock band formed in Prague in 1988. The group comprises guitarists/vocalists Matěj Homola and Jan Homola, bassist Jiří Zeman and drummer Zdeněk Steiner. Wohnout is among the most popular bands in the Czech Republic and released nine studio albums since formation. History Wohnout was formed in Prague in 1988, one year prior to the Velvet Revolution. The lineup consisted of brothers Matěj Homola and Jan Homola, both on guitars and vocals, along with a bassist and a drummer. In 1990, however, Wohnout disbanded. Brothers Homola reformed in 1995 with new bassist Jiří Zeman and a new drummer Zdeněk Steiner. Their first show was in 1996, and their debut album, ''Cundalla'', was recorded in 1998 and released in 1999 by Sony Music/Bonton. David Koller
David Koller (born 27 September 1960) is a Czech musician and record producer. Career Music Koller started his career in the early 1980s as the drummer of Jasná Páka and has also played in various other bands, including Žentour, Pusa, and Blue Effect. He founded the popular Czech group Lucie in 1985 and remained there until 2005, when he departed, due to disagreements with fellow members P.B.CH. and Robert Kodym. The group reunited in 2012.
