Stimpy's Invention
"Stimpy's Invention" is the second segment of the sixth episode and season finale of the first season of ''The Ren & Stimpy Show'', as well as the thirteenth aired segment overall. It originally aired on Nickelodeon in the United States on February 23, 1992. The episode follows Stimpy, who, after subjecting Ren to several failed inventions, invents one that takes control of its user's happiness in hopes of making Ren happier in life. However, the invention causes Ren to go insane. Plot Stimpy – demonstrating more intelligence than usual – goes on a spree of creating useless and impractical inventions. Stimpy subjects Ren to his ridiculous inventions one by one. After Ren becomes enraged at being trapped in the next invention, the glue-filled Stay-Put Socks, Stimpy worries that Ren is unhappy in life, so he resolves to invent something that will put Ren in a better mood. ''The Ren & Stimpy Show'' (also known as ''Ren & Stimpy'') is an American animated television series created by Canadian animator John Kricfalusi. Originally produced by Spümcø for Nickelodeon, the series aired from August 11, 1991, to December 16, 1995, with a total of five seasons and 52 episodes. The series follows the adventures of Ren Höek, an emotionally unstable and sociopathic chihuahua dog; and Stimpy, a good-natured and dimwitted manx cat. ''The Ren & Stimpy Show'' is the third of Nickelodeon's original animated seriesknown as "Nicktoons"alongside ''Rugrats'' and '' Doug''. In contrast with other shows on the network, it has generated controversy for its dark humor, sexual innuendos, adult humor, violence, and shock value.
