Steven Sage
Steven F. Sage (born 1947, New York City) is a scholar and former American diplomat who has written on ancient China and on 20th-century Europe. He is an author of two books ''Ancient Sichuan and the Unification of China'' (1992) and ''Ibsen and Hitler'' (2006). He is currently working on books on the Holocaust in Bulgaria and on the building of the Reichsautobahn. Education and career As an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania, Sage studied Sinology under Professor Derk Bodde, then proceeded to a doctoral grant from the East–West Center at the University of Hawaii. In 1981 he entered the United States Foreign Service via the examination system and served two years as vice consul at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing. Then came language training in Bulgarian and two years at the embassy in Sofia. Although it is one of the writer's lesser known plays, on several occasions Henrik Ibsen called ''Emperor and Galilean'' his major work. ''Emperor and Galilean'' is written in two complementary parts with five acts in each part and is Ibsen's longest play. The play is about the Roman Emperor Julian the Apostate. The play covers the years 351–363. Julian was the last pagan ruler of the Roman Empire. It was his desire to bring the empire back to its ancient Roman values. Fritz Todt (; 4 September 1891 – 8 February 1942) was a German construction engineer and senior figure of the Nazi Party. He was the founder of '' Organisation Todt'' (OT), a military-engineering organisation that supplied German industry with forced labour, and served as Reich Minister for Armaments and Ammunition in Nazi Germany early in World War II, directing the entire German wartime military economy from that position. An engineer by training, Todt served in the ''Luftstreitkräfte'' during World War I and was a recipient of the Iron Cross. He joined the Nazi Party in 1922 and the ''Sturmabteilung'' (SA) in 1931. Tong Enzheng (; 1935 – April 20, 1997) was a prominent Chinese archaeologist, historian, designer, and science fiction author. Career Tong authored the textbook ''Cultural Anthropology'' and specialized in early southwest China. He also was involved in redesigning the Sichuan University Museum. He also became noted for his criticism of the influence of Lewis H. Morgan on Chinese anthropology.
