Steve Heller (fiction)
Steve Heller is an American author. His novel ''The Automotive History of Lucky Kellerman'' was a selection of the Book-of-the-Month Club. His writings have earned a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and two O. Henry Awards. He is the Chair, Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Program at Antioch University Los Angeles. Heller grew up near Yukon, Oklahoma. He has a B.A. in English, M.S. in English Education from Oklahoma State University, and M.F.A. in creative writing from Bowling Green State University. Heller began teaching as an English instructor at Ponca City High School. In 1990 he received the Kansas Literary Artists Fellowship in Fiction, and in 1996 the Kansas Governor's Arts Award. Steven Heller (composer-producer) is a producer-composer, based in Asheville, North Carolina, who has won two Grammy Awards, as well as a number of national awards for his music and recordings. He was production music supervisor for the 1995 Miramax film, ''"The Journey of August King.'' He wrote and produced the theme music for "Conversations" and "Evening Rounds," listener call-in programs on the public radio station WCQS, in Asheville, North Carolina. Steven Heller is the father of guitarist Drew Heller of the band Toubab Krewe. Steven Heller (born July 7, 1950) is an American art director, journalist, critic, author, and editor who specializes in topics related to graphic design. Biography Steven Heller was born July 7, 1950, in New York City to Bernice and Milton Heller. He attended the Walden School, a progressive prep school on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, as well as military school. In 1968, he enrolled at New York University with a major in English, later transferring to the School of Visual Arts illustration and cartoon program but not graduating from either. After leaving SVA, he was hired to teach a newspaper design class. In 1968, he became the art director of the ''New York Free Press'' without formal education or credentials because of his leftist leanings, later attending some New York University lectures utilizing his press pass. Stephen Heller
Stephen Heller (15 May 1813 – 14 January 1888) was a Hungarian pianist, teacher, and composer whose career spanned the period from Schumann to Bizet. Heller was an influence for later Romantic composers. He outlived his reputation, and was a near-forgotten figure at his death in 1888. Biography Heller was born in Pest, Hungary in 1815. He had been destined for a legal career, but instead decided to devote his life to music. At the age of nine he performed Jan Ladislav Dussek's Concerto for Two Pianos with his teacher, F. Brauer, at the Budapest Theater. He played so well that he was sent to study in Vienna, Austria, under Carl Czerny. Unable to afford Czerny's expensive fees, he became a student of Anton Halm. After a success in his first public concert in Vienna at the age of 15, his father undertook a concert tour through Hungary, Poland and Germany. Premier Election Solutions, formerly Diebold Election Systems, Inc. (DESI), was a subsidiary of Diebold that made and sold voting machines. In 2009, it was sold to competitor ES&S. In 2010, Dominion Voting Systems purchased the primary assets of Premier, including all intellectual property, software, firmware and hardware for Premier's current and legacy optical scan, central scan, and touch screen voting systems, and all versions of the GEMS election management system from ES&S. At the time ES&S spun off the company due to monopoly charges its systems were in use in 1,400 jurisdictions in 33 states and serving nearly 28 million people.
