Steve Watson (wide Receiver)
Steve Ross Watson (born May 28, 1957) is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). He later became a wide receivers coach. College career After high school at St. Mark's High School in Wilmington, Delaware, Watson attended Temple University. In four seasons for the Owls, Watson caught 98 passes for 1,629 yards (5th in school history) and 7 touchdowns. He was also a star on the track and field team as a long jumper, winning two conference titles. He was inducted into the school's athletic hall of fame in 1995. Pro career Watson signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 1979 and played his entire nine year NFL career for the team, appearing in 125 games. The Minnesota Golden Gophers football team represents the University of Minnesota in college football at the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision level. The 1987 NFL season was the 68th regular season of the National Football League. This season featured games predominantly played by replacement players, as the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) players were on strike from weeks four to six with week three being cancelled in its entirety. Super Bowl XXI was an American football game between the American Football Conference (AFC) champion Denver Broncos and the National Football Conference (NFC) champion New York Giants to decide the National Football League (NFL) champion for the 1986 season. 1982 Denver Broncos Season
The 1982 Denver Broncos season was the team's 23rd year in professional football and its 13th with the National Football League (NFL). The Broncos played only nine games this season, owing to the strike imposed by the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA). The Broncos were looking to improve on their 10-6 record from 1981. But due to many injuries plus the strike, the Broncos only won 2 games, while losing 7, their worst record since 1971 as well as their first losing season since 1975. This was also their first season with below 3 wins since 1964. Both of the Broncos wins came against interconference teams; the Broncos only won 1 home game the entire year, against the reigning Super Bowl champion San Francisco 49ers, and their only other win was against the Los Angeles Rams.
