Discography
Discography is the study and cataloging of published sound recordings, often by specified artists or within identified music genres. The exact information included varies depending on the type and scope of the discography, but a discography entry for a specific recording will often list such details as the names of the artists involved, the time and place of the recording, the title of the piece performed, release dates, chart positions, and sales figures.Roy Shuker. Popular Music: The Key Concepts'. Routledge, 2005. 80. A discography can also refer to the recordings catalogue of an individual artist, group, or orchestra. This is distinct from a sessionography, which is a catalogue of recording sessions, rather than a catalogue of the records, in whatever medium, that are made from those recordings. The two are sometimes confused, especially in jazz, as specific release dates for jazz records are often difficult to ascertain, and session dates are substituted as a means of organiz ...

Darktown (album)
''Darktown'' is the 14th studio album from British Musician Steve Hackett, released in 1999. It was reissued in 2013 with 3 bonus tracks. On some copies of this reissue, the title was misspelled as "Darktwon" on the sides of the CD case. ''Darktown'' is the last album to feature Julian Colbeck as a keyboardist, on the title track only. Colbeck had played with Hackett for much of the 1990s. ''Darktown'' shows the increasing role that Roger King would play as a part of Hackett's band, as a producer and keyboardist and later as a co-writer. Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) is a British symphony orchestra based in London, that performs and produces primarily classic works. The RPO was established by Thomas Beecham in 1946. In its early days, the orchestra secured profitable recording contracts and important engagements including the Glyndebourne Festival Opera and the concerts of the Royal Philharmonic Society. After Beecham's death in 1961, the RPO's fortunes declined steeply. The RPO battled for survival until the mid-1960s, when its future was secured after a report by the Arts Council of Great Britain recommended that it should receive public subsidy. A further crisis arose in the same era when it seemed that the orchestra's right to call itself "Royal" could be withdrawn. In 2004, the RPO acquired its first permanent London base, at Cadogan Hall in Chelsea. The RPO also gives concerts at the Royal Festival Hall, the Royal Albert Hall and venues around the UK and other countries. The current music dir ...

Bay Of Kings
''Bay of Kings'' is the seventh studio album from English guitarist Steve Hackett, released in October 1983 on Lamborghini Records. His first album consisting entirely of instrumental classical guitar music, Hackett's former record company Charisma Records refused to release it over concerns about its commercial viability. Hackett left the label and released ''Bay of Kings'' through independent record company Lamborghini Records, started by Patric Mimran who owned the said car company at that time. It was later reissued by Hackett's own label, Camino Records. The album cover originally used a nude painting by his wife at the time, Kim Poor, but at her insistence it was replaced for the Camino reissue by a new painting of Hackett. (The original Japanese issue of the album replaced the nude cover with one that featured a drawing of a guitar.) Track listing #"Bay of Kings" – 4:57 #"The Journey" – 4:15 #"Kim" – 2:25 #"Marigold" – 3:37 #"St. Elmo's Fire" – 3:08 #"Petropoli ...

The Night Siren
''The Night Siren'' is the twenty-fourth studio album from English guitarist and singer-songwriter Steve Hackett, released on 24 March 2017 by Inside Out Music. Recording Much of the album was recorded within one year; some of the material dates back from recording sessions for Hackett's previous studio album, ''Wolflight'' (2015). Hackett explained that his writing comes from a three-person team of himself, his wife Jo, and his keyboardist and co-producer Roger King, with Hackett discussing and exchanging initial music and lyric ideas with the other two. When an idea is settled upon, music would be sent to the other performers or Hackett would travel to them and have their parts recorded on location. Hackett recorded the album by means of recording straight to a computer, rather than recording from an amplifier as he likes "to be able to have a conversation over the top of it and it can still sound very heavy". By connecting his amplifier and pedal board to the computer, Hacke ...

Beyond The Shrouded Horizon
''Beyond the Shrouded Horizon'' is the twenty-first studio album by English guitarist and songwriter Steve Hackett. Background and recording "Loch Lomond" is named after the loch of the same name in Scotland. Hackett described the track as blues-influenced which changes to European music once the strings are heard. The lyrics contain many contradictory images, such as a hummingbird in the snow. Though the song contains what sound like bagpipes, Hackett revealed that the sound is in fact a mix of bagpipe samples and a saxophone with the reed "turned around the other way". Track listing #"Loch Lomond" (Steve Hackett, Jo Hackett, Roger King) – 6:50 #"The Phoenix Flown" (Steve Hackett, Jo Hackett, King) – 2:08 #"Wanderlust" (Steve Hackett, Jo Hackett, King) – 0:44 #"Til These Eyes" (Steve Hackett, Jo Hackett, King) – 2:41 #"Prairie Angel" (Steve Hackett, Jo Hackett, Steve Howe, Jonathan Mover) – 2:59 #"A Place Called Freedom" (Steve Hackett, Jo Hackett, King) – 5:57 #" ...

Out Of The Tunnel's Mouth
''Out of the Tunnel's Mouth'' is the 20th studio album by English guitarist and songwriter Steve Hackett, released in October 2009 by Wolfwork and EAR Music. Hackett started recording the album in 2008 while he was involved in a legal case against his ex-wife Kim Poor, which created problems regarding its release. As a result, recording took place in his living room with his touring keyboardist Roger King serving as co-producer. The album includes performances by founding Genesis guitarist Anthony Phillips and Yes bassist Chris Squire. ''Out of the Tunnel's Mouth'' was initially available through Hackett's website and his live shows, until it received a formal release by InsideOut Music in April 2010. This included a 2-CD Special Edition with an extra disc two containing live tracks from the 2009 tour and a previously unreleased studio track. Hackett supported the album with his Around the World in 80 Trains Tour, recordings from which were released on the live album ''Live Rails'' ...
