Stephen White (Gaelic Footballer)
Stephen White (1 September 1928 – 6 September 2009) was an Irish Gaelic footballer who played as a left wing-back for the Louth senior team. White made his debut on the inter-county scene in 1946 when he linked up with the Galway minor team while attending Mountbellew Agricultural College on a scholarship. That year he played in both the Connacht Minor and Connacht Junior football finals for the Tribesmen. In 1947 he made his senior inter-county debut for Louth. White went on to win an All-Ireland medal in 1957 and four Leinster medals with his county. He was also an All-Ireland runner-up in 1950 and captained Louth during the 1951 season. At club level, White won a Ranafast Cup medal with Cooley Kickhams in 1944. He was also a member of the Kickhams side that defeated Oliver Plunketts in the 1947 Louth Junior Championship final. Stephen White (hurler)
Stephen White (born 14 October 1988) is an Irish hurler who played as a midfielder for the Cork senior team. Born in Ballygarvan, County Cork, White first played competitive hurling in his younger days. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team, before later lining out with the under-21 and intermediate sides. He made his senior debut in the 2008 National Hurling League. White has since gone on to be a regular member of the team, however, he has yet to claim any silverware. At club level White is a Munster medallist in the junior grade with Ballygarvan. He has also won a junior championship medal with the club. Playing career Club White plays his club hurling and Gaelic football with Ballygarvan and has enjoyed much success. Stephen White, SJ (1575–1646) was a Jesuit author and antiquarian who wrote about the early Irish saints. Life Stephen White was born in Clonmel, Ireland, in 1575. In 1592, Trinity College, Dublin was founded, and S. White (in all probability Stephen White) was one of the few students named in the charter. Stephen Ross White (1958-2024) was a retired senior Anglican priest, theologian and author. Dr White was educated at Queen's University Belfast, Hull University and Ripon College Cuddesdon. He was ordained in 1986 and began his ecclesiastical career as a curate in Redcar. He was the incumbent at Gweedore from 1988 until 1992; Dean of Raphoe from 1992 until 2002; and Dean of Killaloe from 2002 until 2012. Between 2011 and 2012 he was Chancellor of Saint Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin, the National Cathedral of the Church of Ireland. Stephen William White (16 July 1840 – October 1914) was the secretary of the Northern Central Railway as well as a number of other Pennsylvanian railway companies until his retirement in 1910. Today, he is best known for his English translations of Jules Verne's novels in the ''Philadelphia Evening Telegraph''. Biography White was born in 1840 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of Emily and David W. White. In February 1854, he entered the Central High School of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and graduated there on 11 February 1858 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
