Stephen McDonnell (hurler)
Stephen McDonnell (born 28 January 1989) is an Irish hurler who plays as a corner-back for Premier Senior Championship club Glen Rovers. He made 70 appearances for the Cork senior hurling team between 2011 and 2020, serving as captain for two seasons. McDonnell began his inter-county career as captain of the Cork minor team in 2007. After a stint with the under-21 team, he joined the Cork senior team for the 2011 season and made his last appearance as a substitute during the 2020 qualifiers. In the interim, McDonnell started in the 2013 All-Ireland final draw and replay defeat by Clare and won two Munster Championship titles, the second as captain of the team in 2017. After a successful underage career, McDonnell made his senior club championship debut with Glen Rovers as a 17-year-old in 2006 and has since established himself as one of the mainstays of the team. UCC is a football and hurling club associated with University College Cork. UCC teams play in the Cork Senior Football Championship and Cork Senior Hurling Championship as well as the two main third-level competitions namely the Sigerson Cup in football, the Fitzgibbon Cup in hurling and the Ashbourne Cup in camogie. 2007 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship
The 2007 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship was the 77th staging of the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. The championship began on 21 April 2007 and ended on 2 September 2007. Tipperary entered the championship as the defending champions. On 2 September 2007, Tipperary won the championship following a 3-14 to 2-11 defeat of Cork in the All-Ireland final. This was their second All-Ireland title in-a-row. Imokilly GAA is a Gaelic football and Hurling division in the east of Cork, Ireland. The division includes towns such as Midleton, Cobh, and Youghal. It is one of eight divisions of Cork County Board. It organizes competitions for the clubs within the division, from Under 12 up to the adult level. The winners of these competitions compete against other divisional champions to determine which club is the county champion. The 2019 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 131st staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the 2019 opening round fixtures took place on 15 January 2019. The championship began on 26 March 2019 and ended on 20 October 2019. The final was played at Páirc Uí Rinn in Cork, between defending champions Imokilly and Glen Rovers, in what was their first meeting in a final in 70 years. Original venue, Páirc Uí Chaoimh, was deemed unplayable due to an unsatisfactory playing surface. Imokilly won the match by 2-17 to 1-16 to claim their sixth championship title overall and a first three-in-a-row of titles since St. Finbarr's in 1982. Erin's Own GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Glounthaune in east County Cork, Ireland. The club is made up of players from Little Island, Knockraha, Brooklodge and Glounthaune areas of the parish. The club caters for players at all age levels in hurling, Gaelic football, camogie and ladies football. The club plays in the Imokilly division of Cork GAA. The 1989 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 101st staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the opening fixtures took place on 18 December 1988. The championship began on 29 April 1989 and ended on 1 October 1989. St. Finbarr's entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Sarsfields in a semi-final replay. On 1 October 1989, Glen Rovers won the championship following a 4–15 to 3–13 defeat of Sarsfields in the final. Sarsfields GAA (Cork)
Sarsfields GAA is a hurling club is based in the Riverstown and Glanmire area of County Cork. The club plays in the Imokilly division of Cork GAA. They have won six County Championships, 1951, 1957, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014. They have also won three Minor County Championships, 2007, 2008 and 2014. The club derives its name for the Irish Jacobite and soldier Patrick Sarsfield, 1st Earl of Lucan. Cork Premier Under-21 A Hurling Championship
Cork Premier Under-21 A Hurling Championship (currently known for sponsorship reasons as the ''Evening Echo'' Cork County Premier Under-21 A Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Cork County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1973 for the top tier under-21 hurling teams in the county of Cork in Ireland. The series of games are played from the summer to the winter months with the county final currently being played at Páirc Uí Rinn. The prize for the winning team is the Dick Barrett Cup. The championship uses a double elimination format whereby each team is guaranteed at least two games. 22 clubs currently participate in the Premier Under-21 Championship. Patrick Horgan
Patrick Horgan (born 5 May 1988) is an Irish hurler who plays for Cork Senior Championship club Glen Rovers and at inter-county level with the Cork senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a forward. Playing career Glen Rovers Minor and under-21 Horgan joined the Glen Rovers club at a young age and played in all grades at juvenile and underage levels. On 20 November 2005, he was at right corner-forward when Glen Rovers faced Carrigaline in the Premier County Minor Championship final. Horgan top scored with 0-08, including five frees, in the Glen's 0-15 to 1-08 victory. Horgan was appointed captain of the Glen Rovers minor team for the 2006 season. On 11 November, he was at right wing-forward for a second successive Premier County Minor Championship final.
