Stephen Hill (Australian Footballer)
Stephen Hill (born 1 May 1990) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Fremantle Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Junior career Hill played for West Perth in the WAFL and represented Western Australian in the 2008 AFL Under 18 Championships and after playing some very impressive games was named in the Under 18 All-Australian Team. He was originally tipped to be drafted later in the draft, but in the week leading up to the draft it was widely predicted that Fremantle would select him before Subiaco's Daniel Rich. AFL career Hill was drafted with 's first pick, the third overall, in the 2008 AFL Draft. West Perth Football Club
The West Perth Football Club, nicknamed the Falcons, is an Australian rules football club located in Joondalup, Western Australia. West Perth competes in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW) and is the oldest existing Australian rules football club in Western Australia. Originally located at Leederville Oval, the team was relocated in 1994 to Arena Joondalup, a sports complex in the northern suburbs of Perth. Daniel Rich (born 7 June 1990) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited with the seventh overall selection in the 2008 AFL draft, 2008 national draft. Early life Prior to being drafted by Brisbane, Rich had already amassed a considerable football résumé. Josh Hill (born 19 January 1989) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Western Bulldogs and West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL). Career Originally from Broome in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, Hill moved to Perth, where he attended Trinity College. He was zoned to in the West Australian Football League (WAFL), but did not play a senior game for the club. He was drafted by the Western Bulldogs with selection 61 in the 2006 National Draft, and made his AFL debut in round 17 of the 2007 season against the West Coast Eagles. In round two, 2008, Hill was named the Rising Star nominee. In 2009, Hill played 23 games, kicking 33 goals as a half-forward flanker and forward pocket. West Coast Eagles
The West Coast Eagles are a professional Australian rules football club based in Perth, Western Australia. The club was founded in 1986 as one of two expansion teams in the Australian Football League (AFL), then known as the Victorian Football League. The club plays its home games at Perth Stadium and has its headquarters at Lathlain Park. AFL Rising Star
The AFL Rising Star is an Australian rules football award presented annually to the player adjudged the best young player in the Australian Football League (AFL) for the year. It was first presented in the 1993 season, and was won by Nathan Buckley, playing for the Brisbane Bears. The recipient of the AFL Rising Star has been awarded the Ron Evans Medal since 2007, named in honour of the former AFL Commission chairman following his death that year. The award was sponsored by Norwich Union Australia from its inception in 1993 until 2000. The Western Derby () is the name given to the Australian rules football match between the West Coast Eagles and the Fremantle Dockers, who both participate in the Australian Football League (AFL). As both teams are based in Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, the term "local derby, derby" is used to describe the match. 50-metre Penalty
In the sport of Australian Rules Football, Australian rules football, the 50-metre penalty is applied by umpires to a number of different infractions when a Free kick (Australian rules football), free kick or Mark (Australian football), mark has already been paid. The laws of the game also allow leagues to use a 25-metre penalty in place of a 50-metre penalty.
