Stephen Hance
Stephen John Hance (born 16 April 1966) is a British Anglican priest. Since 2019, he has been National Lead for Evangelism and Witness for the Church of England. He was previously the Dean of Derby, and before that the Canon Missioner of Southwark Cathedral and Director of Mission and Evangelism for the Diocese of Southwark from 2013 to 2017. Early life and education Hance was born on 16 April 1966 in Kisumu, Kenya. He studied sociology at Portsmouth Polytechnic, graduating with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in 1989. In 1990, he entered St John's College, Nottingham, an Open Evangelical Anglican theological college, to train for ordained ministry. During this time he also studied theology, and he graduated from the University of Nottingham with a Bachelor of Theology (BTh) degree in 1992. The Reverend
The Reverend is an style (manner of address), honorific style most often placed before the names of Christian clergy and Minister of religion, ministers. There are sometimes differences in the way the style is used in different countries and church traditions. A Christian mission is an organized effort for the propagation of the Christian faith. Open Evangelical
An open evangelical attempts to uphold evangelical doctrines, morality, and spirituality, while also being inclusive of others. It is a term which is commonly used in the United Kingdom in reference to both individuals and institutions.
