Stephan Pappas
Stephan Pappas (born December 14, 1950) is an American politician and a Republican member of the Wyoming State Senate, representing the 7th district since January 5, 2015. Elections 2014 Incumbent Republican State Senator Leslie Nutting retired after serving one term. Pappas ran unopposed in the Republican primary, and defeated Democratic nominee Dameione Cameron, 59% to 41%. He took office on January 5, 2015. Early life and education Pappas was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, in 1950, the son of Theoni B; (Harrison) and Andrew S. Pappas. He is of Greek descent. He graduated from East High School in Cheyenne, WY in 1969. He then attended the University of New Mexico where he obtained a bachelor's degree in fine arts in 1973. He continued his education at the University of Arizona obtaining a Bachelors of Architecture degree in 1978. Cheyenne ( or ) is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Wyoming, as well as the county seat of Laramie County, with 65,132 residents, per the 2020 US Census. Leslie Nutting
Leslie J. Nutting (born July 4, 1945) was a Republican member of the Wyoming Senate, representing the 7th district from 2011 until 2015. Senate District 7 encompasses Laramie County, which includes the city of Cheyenne. From 2011 until 2013, she was the only woman in the Wyoming Senate. Nutting was joined by Democrat Bernadine Craft in January 2013. Elections 2010 Nutting ran a write-in campaign against incumbent Democratic State Senator Kathryn Sessions. She won the Republican primary unopposed and defeated Sessions, 54% to 46%. 2014 Nutting declined to run for a second term, and was succeeded by Republican Stephan Pappas.
