Stefanos Gaitanos
Stefanos Gaitanos ( el, Στέφανος Γαϊτάνος; born in 1948) is a Greek former professional football manager and former player who manages Pontioi Veria. He played for Superleague clubs Veria and Apollon Athens. His nickname was the ''"General" ( el, Στρατηγός)''. It was given to him by Veria's fans as well as by the newspapers, as he was Veria's main playmaker and his football style was familiar to Mimis Domazos who had the same nickname. Playing career Born in Veria, Gaitanos joined Veria in 1960. He left Veria later to join Apollon Athens as he wanted to be closer to his Law school. He retired from football in 1978 in order to finish his studies. Managerial career Stefanos graduated from law school and also became a coach. Alexis Alexandris (Greek: Αλέξης Αλεξανδρής, sometimes wrongly called ''Alekos Alexandris'' born 21 October 1968) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a striker. Club career Alexis Alexandris began his career where he was born and raised, in Pelopas Kiato and in 1986 played for Veria. After Veroia he moved to AEK Athens in 1991 where he won 3 consecutive championships. In 1994 Alexandris moved to Olympiacos where he had a very successful career winning 7 Greek championships and 1 Greek cup. Ilias Atmatsidis ( el, Ηλίας Ατματσίδης; born 24 April 1969) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He is the Director of Football at AEK Athens B. Club career Atmatsidis started playing football regularly in his village team at the age of 13 competing as a winger. In a match against Foufa Ptolemaidas where the team's goalkeeper could not compete, Atmatsidis was called to play as goalkeeper. His performance established him in the position under the team's goalposts. He was then transferred to the team of the neighboring village of Agios Dimitrios, with which he was crowned champion of the local second division. Andreas Niniadis
Andreas Niniadis ( el, Aνδρέας Nινιάδης; born 18 February 1971) is a Pontic Greek former professional footballer. Olympiacos Since his retirement, Niniadis has been employed by his former club Olympiacos as a chief scout and an assistant manager, a position he holds today. Nikos Dabizas ( el, Νίκος Νταμπίζας, born 3 August 1973) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a defender for Newcastle United, Leicester City, Olympiacos and AEL. He was also in Greece's 2004 European Football Championship winning squad. Career Pontioi Veria Dabizas spent his days playing football and helping in his father's company.
