Stefanos Dimitriadis (born 8 September 1989, Athens) is a Greek swimmer. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed in the Men's 100 metre butterfly and 200 m butterfly, finishing in 40th and 23rd places overall respectively in the heats, failing to qualify for the semifinals. Swimming is an individual or team racing sport that requires the use of one's entire body to move through water. The sport takes place in pools or open water (e.g., in a sea or lake). Competitive swimming is one of the most popular Olympic sports, with varied distance events in butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, and individual medley. In addition to these individual events, four swimmers can take part in either a freestyle or medley relay. The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name is a portmanteau of the words "University" and "Olympiad".
