State Prize Of Ukraine In Science And Technology
The State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology is an annual award given by the President of Ukraine for accomplishments in science and technology. It is given for one of four categories: outstanding scientific research in the humanities, social, or natural sciences; development of new equipment, technologies, or methods of disease prevention; the solution of environment problems or invention of new environmental conservation techniques; or textbooks or new vocational techniques. It is the highest award given by The Government of Ukraine for accomplishments in science and technology. Recipients are called Laureates of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology. History The State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology was established by the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR in 1969. Vitold Pavlovych Fokin ( uk, Віто́льд Па́влович Фо́кін; born 25 October 1932) is a Ukrainian retired politician who served as the first Prime Minister of Ukraine from the country's declaration of independence on 24 August 1991 until 1 October 1992. Previously, he served as Prime Minister of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic from 23 October 1990 to 24 August 1991. Fokin graduated from the National Mining University of Ukraine in Dnipro. Oleh Dubyna (; born 20 March 1959) is a former chairman of the board of the Ukraine's national oil and gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy. Biography Dubyna graduated from Kamianske Industrial Institute with a bachelor's degree in Steelmaking in 1982 and from 1985 to 1986 he was a lecturer at the Kamianske polytechnic school.
