Starvin Hungry
Starvin Hungry was a Canadian rock band formed in Toronto and later based in Montreal, Quebec. History Starvin Hungry was initially begun as a solo guitar and vocal act by John Milchem in 1995, performing original songs that drew inspiration from the Velvet Underground, Motörhead,'90s garage rock and early John Lee Hooker solo recordings. His twin brother Glenn, a local scene veteran and drummer for long-standing Canadian country-rock act Blue Rodeo, joined as a part-time member shortly after. In the years following Starvin Hungry alternated between a solo and duo live act in the Toronto bar scene, largely depending on Glenn's availability around Blue Rodeo's touring and recording schedule. Broken Social Scene is a Canadians, Canadian indie rock band, a musical collective including as few as six and as many as nineteen members, formed by Kevin Drew (vocals, guitar) and Brendan Canning (vocals, bass) in 1999. Doughboys
Doughboy was a popular nickname for the American infantryman during World War I. Though the origins of the term are not certain, the nickname was still in use as of the early 1940s. Krista Muir is a Canadian indie rock singer-songwriter and keyboardist based in Montreal, Quebec. She initially used the stage name and persona of Lederhosen Lucil, but in 2007, she also began recording and performing under her own name. She plays two vintage Yamaha keyboards, and sometimes a ukulele, to accompany her singing. Early life Muir was born in Kingston, Ontario, and went to University in Montreal, Quebec. Ramachandra Borcar is a Montreal-born musician and composer of mixed Indian and Danish background. He is also known under the monikers Ramasutra and DJ Ram. Tricky Woo
Tricky Woo was a Canadian garage punk band, based in Montreal, Quebec. The "classic lineup" of the band consisted of vocalist and guitarist Andrew Dickson, guitarist Adrian Popovich, bass guitarist Eric Larock and drummer Patrick Conan. Charles Spearin
Charles Spearin is a Canadian multi-instrumentalist from Toronto, Ontario. He is primarily known as a founding member of indie rock bands Do Make Say Think and Broken Social Scene. Career As a teen, Spearin studied at Etobicoke School of the Arts, a music-oriented high school. In the mid-1990s, he studied audio engineering at the Harris Institute for the Arts. During this time, he became friends with Kevin Drew over a mutual admiration of the post-rock band Tortoise. For a short time, they played in a band called Djula, but grew dissatisfied with performing. In 1998, they released their first album under the name KC Accidental.
