Starchild (O.C. Album)
''Starchild'' is the fourth studio album released by American rapper, O.C. ( D.I.T.C.), in early 2005 through Boston based imprint, Grit Records. The album was initially released in Japan, with a planned release in the US but it was shelved due to problems with sample clearances for a number of the songs. Unlike O.C.'s previous albums, ''Starchild'' does not feature any guest artists, apart from Pharoahe Monch ( Organized Konfusion), who is featured on "Evaridae", but only sings the hook. It was also the first album not to feature any production or assistance from members of D.I.T.C.. O.C. tried to go for a new sound with talented and lesser known producers, such as Vanguard, Floyd the Locsmif (credited as "Locsmif") and Swedish Soul Supreme. Love Unlimited was a female vocal trio that provided backing vocals for American singer-songwriter Barry White on his albums and concert tours. They also found success with their own recordings. The Natural Four
The Natural Four was an American R&B group from Oakland, California that played from 1967-1976. History Formed in 1967, the Natural Four approached Fred Ivey about becoming their manager. Ivey owned a local record store called Tape Town and eventually made a deal with a local Oakland label, Boola Boola Records. Their first release, "I Thought You Were Mine" sold 30,000 copies locally, after being regularly played on San Francisco soul/R&B radio station KSOL and on Oakland's KDIA where it rose to #7 on the chart. ABC Records saw the group's potential and picked them up. Commodores are an American funk and soul band, which were at their peak in the late 1970s through the mid 1980s. The members of the group met as mostly freshmen at Tuskegee Institute (now Tuskegee University) in 1968, and signed with Motown in November 1972, having first caught the public eye opening for the Jackson 5 while on tour.
