Stanton Hall
Stanton Hall, also known as Belfast, is an Antebellum Classical Revival mansion at 401 High Street in Natchez, Mississippi. Built in the 1850s, it is one of the most opulent antebellum mansions to survive in the southeastern United States. It is now operated as a historic house museum by the Pilgrimage Garden Club. The house was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1974 and and a Mississippi Landmark in 1995. Description Stanton Hall occupies an entire city block north of downtown Natchez, bounded by High, Commerce, Monroe, and Pearl Streets. The property is ringed by wrought iron fencing with elaborate gate posts. The house is a three-story brick structure, plastered and painted white. Designed and built by Thomas Rose, the house accrued a final bill of about $83,000. Rosedown Plantation State Historic Site is an historic home and former plantation located in St. Francisville, Louisiana, United States. Built in 1835 by the slaveholders Daniel and Martha Turnbull, it is one of the most documented and intact plantation complexes in the South and is known for its extensive formal gardens surrounding the house. Audubon State Historic Site
Audubon State Historic Site is a state park property in West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, between the towns of St. Francisville and Jackson. It is the location where noted ornithologist and artist John James Audubon spent the summer of 1821. Visitors come to see Oakley Plantation house, where Audubon lived at the time, and the surrounding plantation grounds. A portion of the site contains the forest which served as a setting for many of the 32 '' Birds of America'' paintings that Audubon created or began while at Oakley.
