''Standing in the Dust'' or ''Standing in the Mist'' ( fa, ایستاده در غبار, romanized: ''Istadeh Dar Ghobar'') is a 2016 biographical drama film about Ahmad Motevaselian, an Iranian commander in the Iran-Iraq war, who disappeared in Lebanon. The film is directed by Mohammad Hossein Mahdavian and produced by Habibollah Valinezhad. Synopsis Ahmad is an army commander who must confront the enemy at the gates of the Khorramshahr, But his fate is determined far from the Iranian border. The movie depicts the real-life events of this great commander who is regarded as one of Iran's most well-respected contemporary national heroes. Mohammad Hossein Mahdavian ( fa, محمدحسین مهدویان; born 12 May 1981) is an Iranian film director and screenwriter. He's best known for his films ''Standing in the Dust'' (2016), '' Midday Adventures'' (2017), ''Lottery'' (2018), ''Walnut Tree'' (2020) and ''Mortal Wound'' (2021). He won both Best Film and Audience Choice of Best Film for making the film ''Midday Adventures'', making it one of only five films in The history of cinema of Iran to win the latter. Khorramshahr ( fa, خرمشهر , also romanized as ''Khurramshahr'', ar, المحمرة, romanized as ''Al-Muhammerah'') is a city and capital of Khorramshahr County, Khuzestan Province, Iran. Iranian Diplomats Kidnapping (1982)
Three Iranian diplomats as well as a reporter for Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) were abducted in Lebanon on 4 July 1982. None of them have been seen since. The missing individuals are Ahmad Motevaselian, military attaché for Iran's embassy in Beirut; Seyed Mohsen Mousavi, chargé d'affaires at the embassy; Taghi Rastegar Moghadam, an embassy employee; and Kazem Akhavan, IRNA photojournalist. Motevaselian was also an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) member in command of an Iranian expeditionary force in Lebanon. They were stopped at a checkpoint in northern Lebanon by Lebanese Phalange forces commanded by Samir Geagea. Speculation about their fate has circulated since their abduction. Iranian officials believe that they were handed over to Israel after they were kidnapped and are still alive and being held in Israeli territory. Ahmad Motevaselian
Ahmad Motevaselian ( fa, احمد متوسلیان), an Iranian military attaché, was one of four Iranians who disappeared in Lebanon in 1982. During the Iran–Iraq War, he was a commander in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and established the 27th Muhammad Rasoolullah Division of Tehran. He played a role in the Liberation of Khorramshahr and later, as part of a senior diplomatic group of political and military leaders, went to Syria. On 5 July 1982, when the vehicle carrying the diplomats was passing through a checkpoint post on its way to Beirut, it was intercepted by Phalange Party. The car and four passengers, completely disappeared. Iran has accused Israel of kidnapping and holding them in Israeli jails and covering up their fate.
