Stade Olympique De L'Emyrne
Stade Olympique de l'Emyrne is the football section of a Malagasy sports club based in Antananarivo, Madagascar. They won the THB Champions League in 2001 and were runners-up in the Coupe de Madagascar in 2003. SOE's 2002 results were forfeited after the team conceded 149 own goals in a match against AS Adema in protest of a refereeing decision. It was the biggest win in a national top division match. The Pro League Championnat de Football National Division 1 (known as Orange Pro League Madagascar for sponsorship reasons) is the premier football (soccer), football league in Madagascar. Prior to 2019, it was known as the Three Horses Beer-sponsored THB Champions League. Format 1962-2019: The competition is played in a round-robin tournament, round-robin format between the 24 qualifying clubs from the 22 regional leagues in the country. An own goal, also called a self goal, is where a player performs actions that result in them or their team scoring a goal on themselves, often resulting in a point for the opposing team, such as when a football player kicks a ball into their own net or goal, awarding the other team a point. AS Adema 149–0 SO l'Emyrne was a football match played on 31 October 2002 between two teams in Toamasina, Madagascar. It holds the world record for the highest scoreline in any football match, recognised by ''The Guinness Book of Records''. SO l'Emyrne (SOE) intentionally lost the game against their arch-rivals AS Adema in a pre-planned protest over refereeing decisions that had gone against them during a previous four-team playoff tournament. By some considerable margin, the match surpassed the previous-highest scoreline when Arbroath beat Bon Accord 36–0 in the Scottish Cup in 1885.
