St Farnan's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in west County Sligo, Republic of Ireland. It was formed from the amalgamation of two local clubs, Dromore West and Templeboy in 1964. As of 2022, it was competing as a Sligo Senior Football Championship club, for the first time since the 2012 season. Gaelic Athletic Association
The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA; ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael ; CLG) is an Irish international amateur sporting and cultural organisation, focused primarily on promoting indigenous Gaelic games and pastimes, which include the traditional Irish sports of hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, Gaelic handball and rounders. County Sligo ( , gle, Contae Shligigh) is a county in Ireland. It is located in the Border Region and is part of the province of Connacht. Dromore West
Dromore West () is a village in County Sligo, Ireland. Dromore West is situated on the Dunneil River and sits between the Ox Mountains and the Atlantic coast. A river walk runs from just below the petrol station towards the sea. There is an old Napoleonic tower at the top of Ballykilcash hill, on the Wild Atlantic Way, near the village. There are four public houses in the village, though not all open throughout the week. There are also two shops, a restaurant, a chemist, a hairdresser, health centre, bakery, Chinese takeaway, butcher and a post office and florist. The Sligo Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club competition between the top Sligo clubs. The winners of the Sligo Senior Championship qualify to represent the county in the Connacht Senior Club Football Championship and in turn, go on to the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. The Sligo Junior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by lower-tier Sligo GAA clubs. Bunninadden have the biggest number of titles with six. Sligo Under 20 Football Championship
The Sligo Under-21 Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association competition between the Under-21 panels of the clubs in Sligo. Up to 2006 this was the Under-21 Championship, but a decision was taken to hold the Championship a year earlier (i.e. for Under-20s), therefore there were two Championships in 2006 - an Under-21 Championship (won by Ballymote), and the Under-20 competition, in which Tourlestrane defeated Eastern Harps in the final. No competition was held in 2014 as it was decided to re-instate the competition in its Under-21 format for 2015.
