St Enoder (electoral Division)
St Enoder ( Cornish: ) was an electoral division of Cornwall in the United Kingdom which returned one member to sit on Cornwall Council between 2013 and 2021. It was abolished at the 2021 local elections, being succeeded by St Dennis and St Enoder. Councillors Extent St Enoder represented the villages of Summercourt, Penhale, Fraddon, St Columb Road and Indian Queens, and the hamlets of Chapel Town, St Enoder, Trevarren and Toldish. Fraddon
Fraddon is a village in mid-Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, in the parish of St Enoder (where the 2011 census population was included). It is roughly midway between Newquay and St Austell and is south of the linked villages of St Columb Road and Indian Queens. Fraddon was formerly on the A30 road but a dual carriageway bypass now carries traffic south of the village. Mitchell, Cornwall
Mitchell (sometimes known as Michael or St Michael's) is a village in mid Cornwall, England. It is situated 14 miles (22 km) northeast of Redruth and 17 miles (27 km) west-southwest of Bodmin on the A30 trunk road. Mitchell straddles the old course of the A30 road but a dual carriageway bypass now carries the traffic north of the village. A 16th-century coaching inn called the Plume of Feathers stands in the main street. History The original name was La Medeshole and the first recorded mention of the village was in a court case in 1234 establishing the legal status of an annual market on St Francis's Day. A chapel of St Francis for the use of wayfarers existed from 1239 until its destruction at the Reformation. The right to hold a fair on the Feast of Saint Francis was granted to the Lord of the Manor by Henry III in 1239 along with a market, and by 1302 both fair and market were being held in Mitchell, and "The Lord's Fair" was still being celebrated in 1499. ... St Enoder
St Enoder ( kw, Eglosenoder) is a civil parishes in England, civil parish and hamlet in Cornwall, United Kingdom. The hamlet is situated five miles (8 km) southeast of Newquay. There is St Enoder (electoral division), an electoral ward bearing this name which includes St Columb Road. The population at the 2011 census (including Blue Anchor) was 4,563. The nearest village is Summercourt half-a-mile (0.8 km) to the south and other settlements include Fraddon, Penhale, Indian Queens and Trevarren. History St Enoder is apparently named after an unknown saint though the oldest form of the name is "Heglosenuder" in Domesday Book. The next mention of St Enoder appears to be as "Sancti Enodri" (gen.) in 1271 and "Eglos Enoder" occurs in 1416 (this is interpreted by Craig Weatherhill as "St Enoder's church").
