The Church of St Anne is in Aigburth Road, Aigburth, Liverpool, Merseyside, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Liverpool, the archdeaconry of Liverpool and the deanery of Liverpool South Childwall. Its architecture is an early example of the Norman Revival style. History The church was built in 1836–37 to a design by Cunningham & Holme. It was founded by a group of local merchants, John Moss, Charles Stewart Parker, John Abraham Tinne and Josias Booker and was consecrated in 1837. In 1853–54 broad transepts were added and the chancel was extended. The north and south galleries were removed in 1893–94 and in 1913–14 the chancel was further extended. St Anne's Church is in Overbury Street, Edge Hill, Merseyside, Edge Hill, Liverpool, Merseyside, England. It is an active Roman Catholic parish church in the Archdiocese of Liverpool. In 1999 its parish was combined with that of the Church of St Bernard. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II Listed building#England and Wales, listed building. History St Anne's was built between 1843 and 1846, designed by Charles Hansom, and built by the monks of Downside Abbey. It was enlarged in 1888–89 by Pugin and Pugin, who added a chancel, an apse, and two transepts, and in 1893 by Peter Paul Pugin who added a baptistry. At an unknown date its care passed from the monks of Downside Abbey to those of Ampleforth Abbey, and in 1950 the church became part of the Archdiocese of Liverpool. St Anne's Church is a Roman Catholic church on Highfield Road in Rock Ferry, Birkenhead, Merseyside, England. It is a Grade II listed building. History It was built for the Oblates of St Mary Immaculate by Peter Paul Pugin and Cuthbert Pugin to designs by their brother Edward Welby Pugin - Edward had planned a south-west tower but this was never built. Its foundation stone was laid on 9 May 1875 by James Brown, Bishop of Shrewsbury and the church was opened on 28 October 1877. A presbytery was added between 1884 and 1885 and side aisles in 1934.
