St Margaret's Academy in Livingston, West Lothian, Scotland is a Catholic secondary school. History St Margaret's Academy opened in 1994 as the successor to St Mary's Academy in Bathgate and Our Lady's High School, Broxburn. Livingston ( sco, Leivinstoun, gd, Baile Dhunlèibhe) is the largest town in West Lothian, Scotland. Designated in 1962, it is the fourth post-war new town to be built in Scotland. Taking its name from a village of the same name incorporated into the new town, it was originally developed in the then-counties of Midlothian and West Lothian along the banks of the River Almond. It is situated approximately fifteen miles (25 km) west of Edinburgh and thirty miles (50 km) east of Glasgow, and is close to the towns of Broxburn to the north-east and Bathgate to the north-west. Elise Christie (born 13 August 1990) is a British former short track speed skater. She was coached by Nicky Gooch and she specialised in the 1000m event. She is ten times a European gold medallist, including two overall European titles in 2015 and 2016. Our Lady's High School, Broxburn was a former Roman Catholic High School located in the western part of Broxburn, West Lothian in Scotland. The student occupied its former premises beginning in 1969. It was a state-funded high school that educated Roman Catholic students mainly from the areas of Broxburn, Uphall, Uphall Station and Winchburgh. In 1983, the school had 400 students; prior to its closure there were about 100 students. The school's motto was 'Respice Stellam', Latin for ''look to the stars.'' Closure In 1984 the Lothian Regional Council announced plans to close Our Lady's High School by 1986, a move opposed by parents of students. St Mary's Academy was a Roman Catholic High School located in the eastern part of the town of Bathgate, West Lothian in Scotland. It was a state funded school for older children which drew its pupil roll from most of the towns in West Lothian. The motto was 'Animo et Fide' which translates from Latin as ''Courageously and Faithfully''. The school was located on Edinburgh Road ( A89). Buildings The school, which opened in 1931, consisted of two rectangular stone buildings each containing a gymnasium in the centre and two quadrangles. These buildings were known as the East wing and the West wing, they were linked by a covered walkway (the link corridor). Knightsridge ( Scots: Knichtsrig) is an area of Livingston in West Lothian, Scotland. Knightsridge lies to the north of the town. History Not long after the start of the construction of Craigshill and Howden began, the construction of Knightsridge started in 1968 and finished in 1980. Most of the first residents were placed in Knightsridge, Craigshill, Howden and Ladywell. The streets are named after surnames with the suffix Way i.e. Davidson Way, Barclay Way, Gordon Way, Robertson Way. Ladywell is a locale in Lewisham in South East London, England, and a ward in the London Borough of Lewisham between Brockley, Crofton Park and Lewisham proper. It has ample green space including Ladywell Fields and Hilly Fields which borders Brockley. Ladywell Village, the main shopping area along Ladywell Road, was given a facelift in 2013 with £800,000 of Transport for London funding.
