Saint John's Episcopal Church (Wilmington, California)
Saint John's Episcopal Church is a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument located in the Wilmington section of Los Angeles, California, near the Port of Los Angeles. Saint John's Episcopal Church (Crawfordsville, Indiana)
Saint John's Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal Church (United States), Episcopal Church (building), church located at Crawfordsville, Indiana, Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, Indiana. It was built in 1837 by an Episcopal congregation, organized through missionary bishop Jackson Kemper, and is a one-story, gable fronted frame building in the Greek Revival architecture, Greek Revival style. The original section measures 30 feet by 50 feet; a 30-foot rear addition was built in 1960. Atop the roof is a bell tower, belfry added about 1950. It is the oldest remaining church building in Crawfordsville and Indiana's first Episcopal Church building. ''Note:'' This includes and Accompanying photographs. St. John's Church, or St. John's Episcopal Church, founded in 1786, is an historic Episcopal church located at 101 South Prospect Street in the South Prospect Street Historic District of Hagerstown, Maryland. It is the seat of Saint John's Parish, Diocese of Maryland, which covers most of Washington County, Maryland. Foothills Baptist Church is an historic Carpenter Gothic church located at 2172 New York Route 22 in the Boquet section of Essex, New York, in the United States. Built in 1855 as St. John's Episcopal Church, it became the Union Church at Boquet Chapel in 1880, the Church of the Nazarene in 1949 and Foothills Baptist Church in 2005. Saint John's Episcopal Church (Petersburg, Virginia)
Saint John's Episcopal Church was founded in Petersburg, Virginia in 1868. The present brick edifice was begun in 1897, replacing a frame structure. The original plans did not include a steeple but the druggist across the street from the church stepped in and donated funds so that a steeple could be added. The church is of provincial Gothic design: brick and New England quarried brownstone with a distinctive Buckingham Slate roof in alternating fish scale and diamond patterns. The bell in the belfry weighs one ton. Flagstones at the front entrance were salved from the Jarratt Hotel which stood at the corner of Washington and Union streets until 1902, receiving visits from two United States' presidents, Polk and Grant, as well as other prominent figures.
