St. George's Grammar School (Hyderabad)
St. George's Grammar School is a private school located at Abids, Hyderabad. It is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. History The school was established in 1834, named ''Hyderabad Residency School'', to cater for the educational needs of the children of the British community serving the government in Hyderabad. It is the oldest English medium school of the city and one of the oldest in India. In 1867 the school changed its name to ''The Chudderghat Protestant School'', and in 1891 to ''St.George's Grammar School''. In 1865 a separate girls' school was established, the first in Hyderabad. In 1918, the management of the school was handed to the Australian Christian Mission Seminary. After Indian independence in 1947, the school was handed to the Church of South India. Abids is a major commercial center in Hyderabad, India. Abids is well known as the oldest and most famous business area in Hyderabad. The state government building (TSFC), and the President Plaza, Badshah palace are located here. A variety of businesses are located here, unlike most markets which are known for specializing in a certain trade. This area's importance has increased because of its close proximity to Nampally Railway Station. Ali Nawaz Jung Bahadur
Mir Ahmed Ali, Nawab Ali Nawaz Jung Bahadur ( In Urdu - میر احمد علی نواب علی نواز جنگ بہادر ) (born on 11 July 1877) was chief engineer during the rule of Nizam of Hyderabad. He was responsible for major irrigation works, buildings and bridges in Hyderabad State such as Osman Sagar, Nizam Sagar Himayat Sagar and Ali Sagar reservoir of Nizamabad district, also named after him. He served as a chairman of National Planning Committee on River training and Irrigation. Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma, AC (born 13 January 1949) is a former Indian Air Force pilot who flew aboard Soyuz T-11 on 3 April 1984 as part of the Soviet Interkosmos programme. Suresh Oberoi (born 17 December 1946) is an Indian actor and politician who appeared in Hindi films. He is a recipient of the 1987 National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. Air Chief Marshal (India), Air Chief Marshal Idris Hasan Latif, Param Vishist Seva Medal, PVSM (9 June 1923 – 30 April 2018) was a former air officer in the Indian Air Force. Abid Hasan
Abid Hasan Safrani, IFS, born Zain-al-Abdin Hasan, was an officer of the Indian National Army (INA) and later, after 1947, an Indian diplomat. Born to an anti-colonialist family in Hyderabad, Abid Hasan was brought-up in India and later went to Germany to train as an engineer. While he was a student in Germany during World War II that Abid Hasan met Subhas Chandra Bose and decided to join the Indische Legion. Hasan would later serve as Bose's personal secretary and interpreter while Bose was in Germany. Hasan also sailed with Bose in the German U-boat U-180 in 1943 on Bose's voyage to South East Asia. Over the course of the reformation of the INA and its campaigns in the south east Asian theatre, Hasan rose to be a Major in the Azad Hind Fauj.
